My dad and his friends love fishing and camping. When I was younger I really wanted to be part of it all, so naturally went along. I didn't mind hanging around and helping bring in the fish. I usually manned the net.
One day my dad decided that I was old enough to handle his fishing pole and handed it to me to watch. All was well and I fished for a few hours, though caught not one fish. Then, as night crept up on us, we agreed to cast out one last time, as several people were moving about around us, either going back to camp or coming to have a chat. I held the pole behind me and checked that all was clear and cast.
I threw the d@mn thing so hard I threw myself out into the water with the rod. And I had an audience. I was seven years old, and haven't been fishing since.

My brother and I used to go fishing together all the time when we were kids until the time we were out in the boat and I knocked this prize...huge bass off his line handing him the net which hit his line...which made the bass go bye bye....OMG!!!!!!!! I think I heard about that for the next month and I refused to go fishing with such a poor fishing sport again!!!!!!!!!

Oh and the time he threatened to make me swim home while duck hunting ended our hunting sagas together....I can't remember what I did that time though....
while fly fishing in deepest ayrshire as a kid- i got the fly caught in my lip- had to get taken to the local quackdoctor to get it removed- -after a while, i ( at about 8 years old) was the one that pointed out that the gas on his sterilising machine had gone out- really boosted my terrified 8 y/o confidence . to add insult to injury- while i was getting that done- all my siblings were taken to the nearby farm for strawberries and cream- have never fly fished since!!

you mean you don't STILL hear about it- you must have lovely brothers- mine would probably use it as a eulogy at my funeral!!
While I still lived at home and got my first car, I had to park on the grass beside the driveway, so pops could get out in the morning. So, one day he decided he was going to replace the garage door. Well that night I came home and parked in my usual spot, right ontop of the new door, I found out the next morning. I dont know why I didnt see it
Drugs most certainly weren't the prob. because drugs dont drive cars, people do.

You're story sounds similar to what happened to me one time while fishing with some friends, only stupid me tripped over something behind me and fell over board backwards while still holding on to the dang pole while casting.

Ages ago con and me where out shopping when he noticed a little person ,he had never seen someone that small before so kept staring no matter how hard i tugged hi hand .
Out the blue she makes a bee line for us and proceeds to play wrestle with con ,now my boys big for 10 years old and i swear he didnt have a clue what to do ,but she kept on and on about "taking a swing" so my boy did ............. and floored her .
no joke i watched her drop like a sack of potatoes god so many people were round us at this stage and i just dropped my head in my hands in mortification
jbibiza: Darlin´ I´ve said it before... I´m totally honest.... sometimes to my own detriment...but then I´m only interested in someone who knows me... warts and all
well this proves it but I'm not sending you out for beer in case someone finds you climbing a billboard.

jbibiza: And great fun as well! :: little person taking a bow emotion :: If you are in my life you have to have an amazing sense of humor.... be able to take a practical joke and above all accept the unexpected...
You have to tell us JB...what did you paint and how much was the fine?
