Rexus: The best comes in your life when you are least prepared for it.
I disagree, you have to be prepared for it or the best will never find you.
If the absolute best most perfect man in the whole wide world for me had walked up to me 2 or 3 years ago I wouldn't have even given him a second look. I was too busy finding out how I was by myself, I couldn't have been bothered with Bruce Willis. Well, maybe him, but only for a night or two. Now I'm ready, you can come on anytime now Bruce!

Do you know the story? A man (or woman maybe?) was looking for a touch-stone that would turn every iron into gold. He was wearing an iron chain and picking up every stone to test if that turned the chain into gold. Days passed, years passed on-- the man was traveling the whole world looking for that touch-stone and touching his iron chain with every piece of stones! Half of his life time went on and suddenly he found that his iron chain had been turned into gold! but he didn't notice when that had happened as picking up the stones and testing them with iron chain had become his habit! So he started again to look for the touch-stone that he had found once and lost!
Anyway, I think your case is different. You know what you look for.

mastic55: I do worst here than most and not doing so well in person either, I think I'm stopping the search. AMEN
I have done some serious thinking as well. I have spent lots of time here and before I found this place (a few years ago} I was on another site as well.
Hey Everybody, Mastic think how many time you would waste (forgive me people for word I use :) ) when you want to date/meet so many people in real life. :) Hang on man! :)
BarrenPneuma: Peace ad good luck with that outlook. It is posted clearly for all to see, and will mar first impressions here for a long time to come.

Good story, I think that's probably what happens when you start expecting things or people to turn into something they're not. I'm not looking for gold, and I'm not really sure what exactly what I am looking for. Just think I'll know it when I find it, mainly cause I know who I am.I think if you start trying to decide ahead of time what you want, you may miss out on just what you need. A person who likes who I am, and who I like being with, that's far better than any gold.

than you have in the last 48 hours,
but keep on struggling....
it's kinda amusing.
And made way more sense with your few words than most. And you are freakin hilarious, and whoever said you're brilliantly off colour has you pegged to a T!

I like your great realization and deep self talk! To me the journey is more important than the destination. Since we do not know what the destination is (and we often can't control it), better we enjoy the journey towards it!

Thank you Bebe....I miss the mark sometimes,
but I appreciate those who know my intentions are good...usually.
kitty01: I have to agree, do not think will ever find anyone on a dating site, but nice company.
Why not? It is just another medium. But agreed, usually find something/someone, when you're not really 'looking'. Just be yourself, and enjoy your time here. Or else, take a break and come back. Nothing is gained in a negative frame of mind. Even in cyberspace.
