Hello, I just read article about tourists and it said that the worst tourists all over the world are Russians. Do you have any experience in this subject?
Our old royal city Cracow has problems with men tourists from UK. They booze, are very loud, undress in public place and pee at the streets.
"First it was Brad from Illinois, with his 20-stone wife, trying to do Europe in a week. Then it was Fritz from Munich, hogging the sunlounger. Then it was Shane from Brisbane, with the accent you could cut with a knife. Every generation of British holidaymakers has its bête noire, its least favourite fellow tourist. And there is no doubt who is filling the bill this summer — Ivan from Moscow, the hotel guest from hell."
Sommerauer71: The Brits, whilst we have a great sense of humour, are terrible travellers. We drink, get pissed, shout, hen parties and stag parties are the worst.
We have one street in Salzburg, full of drunk Brits, the police are there often.
Any nationality has it's people who are terrible in other countries, I have met some appalling Americans.
The Japanese are always respectful.
The Middle Eastern people are lovely.
I work in the Tourism Industry.... I have to agree with you T.... I'm British, however I cringe everytime the Brit's come to Tenerife...
The main problem is the youngster, male and female... the so-called drinking laws are pretty tight in the UK...
In Tenerife there are thousands of bars, all fighting for the same business.... they do 'Happy Hour' 9am until 6pm....then some other bars will continue in the evening etc etc
I have traveled to a few Countries. I wonder if they thought I was rude. I'd like to think that overall I was good. I never really thought of myself as a tourist. Maybe in 1989, that was definitely a "tour" I was in one city one day and then another the next day. 21 days and I was in Portugal, Spain, France, Switzerland and the Netherlands. ;-}
American people, not all of them, are the subject of many jokes in the UK, not that the Brits are much to go by.
But they are loud, eat sloppily.
Yet as a Brit who has lived in the US, they know about customer service, love the Brits and are charming. Although I disliked living in Texas, just not suitable for a British Snob.
My experience is that Canadians are the worst tippers in the universe. Floridians in the hospitality field hate to see Canadians come in during Snowbird season
