kidatheart: Do you want to talk to him? If so, just call him. What's so difficult about making a phone call that it has to undergo such scrutiny in public? Why does it seem to get so complicated for no apparent reason?

This is 2008, women are allowed to use the phone for more than just making hair appointmemnts.

Yeah, that woud have always been my first idea, I have never had a problem calling a guy if he's already been calling me. But I have screwed up or been screwed over so much here lately so I'm trying to at least think about what I do before I do it. I don't know if it's even worth the scrutiny I'm putting into it, but I'd at least like the chance to find out without him running for the hills first.

If he's going to run for the hills, better to find out now. Be yourself and do what you feel like doing. If you can't be you around him, then better off without him.

I would say that depend on the tone that he told you.

I had that situation before but his tone was like an indicator that he did not want to rush me into anything.

I don't like guys who are clinging on me. And he knew that. So he gave me the freedom to call him when ever I wanted. When ever I was ready to call. No pressure. No game.

I did call and that was the way it was for a while.

If he was nonchalant when he told you , then yes, i would say it was his way to tell you : what ever.. call me if you want.. if i am free, i will answer .

What was his tone ?

power play??

The Bev I know is more practical than that. I'd say stop analyzing the guy's brain and go for it, if the butterflies are there

thumbs up My feelings exactly. The ones that have run for the hills, well it pi$$ed me off cause I couldn't understand why cause I thought we were having a good time, but I am better off without them.

It's better to say too much, than never to say what you need to say. My new motto.

I'm really thinking maybe the reason he said it is cause he does feel a little insecure, and maybe that's not such a bad thing. Does that make any sense, I mean I've had the players that knew all the right moves, and that has never worked out. Maybe the ball really is in my court, or whatever sports metaphor that is. I'm thinking maybe a compromise, send him an email and tell him I had fun and to call me.

Thanks guys and gals, you know I'm gonna do what I want to anyway! grin

alabamabebe: and any women who have a clue what goes on in men's heads. Never mind, no woman can or should know that.

What does it mean when you've seen a man a couple or three times, had a real good time, and he tells you to call him, in a way that seems to mean, if you want to see me call me. Is it some kind of power play, like seeing how much you really want to see him, or what?

Second question, should I? I hate this stage of a relationship, I never know what the rules are.

when it comes to "new/possible" relationship...
My thoughts to Question #2,
Rules are for fools, unless of course they are your rules, and if they are "your" rules you have the option of changing them to suit your purpose.

Question #1 , women infer many things, the whys and hows and whens and the when nots, where nots and the why nots...do they do this intentionally I politely refer you to your first statement, any women who have a clue what goes on in men's heads. Never mind, no woman can or should know that.

same holds true for us men (generally speaking) what they say and what they do sometimes are totally contradict each other..

alabamabebe: Cr@p, that's what I was afraid you'd all say. What if he seems a little insecure about things, should I maybe email him and let him know I did have a good time and would like to get to know him better? He did say, you have my number and my email. Then I said you've got mine too. So, email at least?

Sorry gals, I'm deferring to the men on this, they are the only ones who know the insane workings of the male mind.

I can't tell you what's going on in another mans head, but you already knew that.

I can give you two off the top of my head situations where I would, have and will say "You know how to get ahold of me",

and you can decide if they are relevevant.

If I seem to be doing all the calling and get even the slightest hint that you're "screening", I'm going to either just stop calling or say..

"You know how to reach me" and not call again until you call me.

Or...

If your schedule is such that you're not available for a couple proposed dates.

It's not any kind of power play, it's simply about not chasing a woman that doesn't want to be chased.

Or what you can start doing as well to avoid payers, is to be ahead of the game..

Don't expect anything but more set your plan first.

Like you could say something like:

If he tells you he will call.. my answer is usually: You don't have to.

Or you can tell him first: I will call you .

I just cannot stand that phone waiting game.
