She really is a phenomenal woman. The more I learn about her the more it like her.
Besides she really is for the people. She didn't court McCain and the GOP looking for this nod. She was chosen on merit. She isn't as self serving as all the others.
She didn't run for political office thinking..."In eight years I can run for president and be the first lady president." She ran for office because she wanted change. She wanted to clean things up. She took on both parties and cleaned the corruption up.
I think naming her as his running mate is the smartest thing McCain has done his whole career.

You know what I hate about Palin? It is that she is a hypocrit!
She wants to tell everyone how to be morally but she has not followed that path in her own life!
She wants to tell everyone that they should not screw until they are married...well..she did! Her son is proof..so what though... happens to alot of people.
She wants to teach "only abstinence" in school. See how good that turned out? The circumstances with her latest pregnancy and birth only point to that she was trying to rid herself of her son while he was viable.(taking jogs, instead of going to a local hospital when she was leaking fluid)...hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm? Not to mention...since she accepted VP...you only see her pregnant daughter holding the baby. She has a baby and wants to run off and be VP? hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm?
I have a BIG problem with people who try to pass judgement and force people to conform to their own shortcomings and tow the line or else....

I think everyone shoots for ideals....in an un-ideal world. I strive to be a better person that I was 10 years ago...and miss the mark, but striving isn't a sin in itself. I haven't seen the "preachiness" from her.

Yup..you strive to be a better person for mistakes. My problem is that she is no saint and imposing things on other people or forcing them to feel guilty for things she herself was very guilty of is someone that turns me off. She isn't speaking it but her actions speak for itself. I am not saying she is all bad... Just don't pass judgement on what you yourself is guilty of and this is a big issue.

She was for the bridge to nowhere before she was against it. And in keeping with the true nature of a reformer she kept all the money they were given to build it instead of returning it. So in her speech she shoulda said, "Thanks but ..thanks."

I think the bottom line is....she fell into all those "titles" She didn't run because she wanted all that. And I am sure most Alaskans are not even aware of that.

I have yet to decide... currently weighing this decision based on the lesser of 2 evils....unfortunately
I'm regret in saying after all the votes have been tallied as it stands right now, I will not be in attendance to any celebration or victory gala/party. but more or less sitting and praying and waiting to see if I made the right decision.

I am of observer status......being from the other dside of the planet and not directly involved in the issue of American presidency.....but....
what happens in America will ultimately effect us all even on this piece of rock in the middle of nowhere i come from....
so I follow the international networks and make my own conclusions....
two points I would like to make.....
somebody who declares to be a staunch conservative Christian and yet is proud to be shown all over the planet shooting a sub machine gun whose only use is that of shooting down human beings is absolutely unacceptable to my etichs.....
and somebody who declares publicly states that the melting of the ice cap in Alaska will make it easier to access new oil reserves is definately somebody I would not like to see in the leadership segment of the most powerful contry in the world.
People like that will only carry on adding to the global problems that have been shafted on us by shifty American politicians.
Not intending to offend anyone of course......it doesn't just happen in the states....and niether is the states the cause of the problems we face gloablly.....but it is the country that creates a good 40% of global pollution and it is also one of the largest armaments producers on the planet.....
so....isn't it time to change that tune?
