Do you live in a house, apartment, condoe, castle, tent, trailer, igloo, or what?
I live in an apartment in an older part of Gothenburg called Majorna. The building is made of wood, and I'm on the second floor of two. I have one kitchen, one bathroom, and one room that is both bedroom and living room. I have windows facing east (=morning sun) and west (evening sun). And it takes me 5 minutes to walk down to the river Göta Älv.
I live in a tent, with 20 others, eat out of plastic bags, showers and port a potties about 100 meters away. This is in the middle east. We have no windows 'cause the sandbags for protection block them. Wanna trade?????? John
I'd be surprised regarding care packages, I have a few friends in Hilla which is close to Baghdad and they can't get any packages whatsoever due to potential mail threats.
I can't wait to go camping! I miss waking up in the morning after a good sandstorm to find all my bunk mates have been replaced with piles of sand. (This was pre-wooden floor days ;)
Currently: 2nd floor of an up/down duplex. Wooden floors through out, big picture window over looking the neighborhood, balcony, on a cul de sac (so the kids have the run of the street), three bedrooms, two kids living with me (one trying out living with Mom), and lots of nice people with kids in my neighborhood.
Hopefully trading up soon to a 3 bedroom tri-level in another great neighborhood on a horse-shoe drive, lots of kids in the area, office, family room, finishable basement, and garage. (Waiting on a friend to decide if he wants to sell.)
i live in a two bedroom apartment on the second floor....I've changed the second bedroom into my telly room and my lounge into my dining room with a 3m long table....
I suppose that makes sense... That sucks, though - John, maybe you and a few of the guys can go the the nearest market and get some nice fabric and cushions for the tent!
I own a 3 bedroom house, 2 baths, large kitchen/livingroom. Even though I live in a small neighborhood, it is rural enough to have seen bear, moose, coyote, raccoons and skunks in my back yard. My son (age 25) temporarily lives with me along with my two furry friends, Higgins and Baldwin.
I live in a 5600 sq ft, 6 bedroom, 5 bath house, all windows on the south side, with a big patio in the back with a hot tub, looking out onto a lovely garden (as of last summer), and beyond that, a nature preserve. I live here with my older daughter and our dog Teddy, and my younger daughter is here half the time.
I've just gotten 25 pieces of art framed, finally after years of it piling up, and I have some minor repainting going on, so between that and putting up the framed pics, things are really falling into place here since my soon-2-b-x moved out.
3 bedroom plus office house on the slopes of a dormant volcano on Maui with 2 teenaged sons, 2 dogs, and a cat who allows us to breathe the same air with him lol
I live in a wooden cottage that I built myself from lumber that I made from trees that I cut down on my own property.
I own 10 acres, but have no immediate neighbors on three sides so I'm surrounded by about 100 acres of untouched land. I also live next to a protected state park.
My cottage is a work in progress. I continue to upgrade and remodel it as time goes on. Currently it has three bedrooms and a single bath, but I'm about to add on again this summer. I also built a woodshop out back, a two car garage, and a building I call " Le Cage de Poulet", but it's actually a two-story storage shed. I just never got around to putting chickens in it yet.
I also have a small barn that I build that used to house two horses. I no longer keep horses.
I'm kind of hoping to meet a mountain woman who would be interested in helping me finish it. ;o)
Problem is that she kind of needs to be a scientist too.
i live in a ranch house it's 3 bedrooms ,one bath ,big kitchen for me to cook different meals since i am southern and i love to cook big time. one room is my sewing room, the back door is our front door, and the sliding doors is our back , don't worry i get confused too my ranch house was built in the 40's and i love it cause there is a dairy farm ice cream stand right down the street from us where my daughter and i can walk oh maybe 1/2 mile to it . and they make their own icecream . and i love the neighborhood cause here neighbors helps each other . and we live in a natonial park with beautiful trees . and thankgod the lake is only 3 mins from our house. what could be perfect.
I have a vague recollection that I´ve already posted to a thread like this. But for a fellow Swede I´ll do it again then. 50 000 square meters/5 hectars/5acres? of land, fields/forrest and yard. Several buildings, main house, guest house and very old cottage. Plus a bunch of building for the sake of the buisness. Two small ponds. Fruit trees and garden. No neighbor what so ever. Closest is about 1 mile. Surrounding are mainly forrest with fields and meadows. This sounds great huh. But I also have 1000 cars parked here. LOL. I have the Swedish record for owning cars.
