Recently lost her baby at 27 weeks, we have the funeral tomorrow and I have been asked to read a poem for her.. Have no idea how I'm going to do it as I cry every time I read it!

Here it is..

Daddy, please don't look so sad,
Mama please don't cry~
"Cause I am in the arms of Jesus
and He sings me lullabies."

Please, try not to question God,
Don't think he is unkind
Don't think He sent me to you,
and then He changed his mind.
You see, I am a special child,
and I'm needed up above
I'm the special gift you gave Him,
the product of your love.

I'll always be there with you
and watch the sky at night,
Find the brightest star that's gleaming,
That's my halo's brilliant light.

You'll see me in the morning frost,
that mists your window pane.
That's me in the summer showers,
I'll be dancing in the rain.

When you feel a little breeze,
from a gentle wind that blows
That's me, I'll be there,
planting a kiss on your nose.

When you see a child playing,
and your heart feels a little tug,
That's me, I'll be there,
giving your heart a hug.

So Daddy, please don't look so sad,
Mama don't you cry.
I'm in the arms of Jesus
and He sings me lullabies.

RIP Lilly. Uncle Stephen Loves you x

I think that is a very touching, and heart rending poem.
I am so sorry about the baby,it is a tragedy for your family.
I am honest enough to say that i could not read that poem.It needs sterner stuff than i am made from.
I would like to extend my condolences, and i am sure you have the support and best wishes of many people on this site.

Oh noo, I'm sorry to hear your sad news sad flower

It is a lovely poem but a real tearjerker as well crying

Just try to compose yourself beforehand, take deep breaths and read it

out in your own time and at your own pace thumbs up

No one is going to think any worse of you if you do cry whilst reading

it as I'm sure they'll not be a dry eye there anyway, so try not to

worry too much about it comfort Just do your bestest hug

Stephen, this poem is heart wrenching; brought tears to my eyes so I can only imagine how difficult its going to be for you. The congregation will also be crying with you, so don't feel bad about the tears rolling down. Just be loud and clear, so everyone gets to hear and appreciate this beautiful poem. My condolences to you and Lily's parents.

Losing a child is awfull at any stage of life
as at one of my sister's children funerals, they played tears in heaven by eric clapton, I still cry everytime I hear that song crying

Back briefly before continuing with the wake.. Just wanted to thank everyone for the support.

Did the reading, managed to hold it together just about until they lowered her in to the ground and we said goodbye for the last time, that bit beat me.

Gone but never forgotten, always in our hearts.
