CjTenorSax: ESP in NYC terms

I heard on BBC tv a couple of nights ago that there is a new site called something like or sofa surfing............. you get to sleep on somebody's sofa for free (but have to return the hospitality to strangers - could be fun!).......... I think you have to provide character references etc - it's designed for poor backpackers who want to travel but can't afford expensive accommodation.

Their blurb said this:

"As a community we strive to do our individual and collective parts to make the world a better place, and we believe that the surfing of couches is a means to accomplish this goal. CouchSurfing isn't about the furniture- it's not just about finding free accommodations around the world- it's about participating in creating a better world. We strive to make a better world by opening our homes, our hearts, and our lives. We open our minds and welcome the knowledge that cultural exchange makes available. We create deep and meaningful connections that cross oceans, continents and cultures. CouchSurfing wants to change not only the way we travel, but how we relate to the world!"

Hmmmmmm............... sounds like fun if you are young and trusting and have nothing worth stealing in your home!

LOL, You are right. I KNOW things up there are astronomical. I dread finding out how much things are going to cost when I transfer to RIT next year, and that is in Rochester, NY.

~ 1984, my late Brother-In-Law, attended his firs Residency up there.. Mom and Dad-in-Law went up to see him.

Bobby was spending $1500.00/Mo for an efficiency the size of a large walkin closet. His bed folded up into the wall, he had a small frige, mini stove a sink you could barely put a glass under the faucet and a desk/chair all small. He had to share a bathroom with three other guys down the hall. Mom said when the bed was down there was no room too move in room. I don't know where he kept his clothes.

That is was I meant.
