I wouldn't assume that most women love pink, LOL. Although pink flowers should be ok, they're just flowers, LOL.

Arlene101: 2.--Try to keep the conversation mostly being interested in her without sounding like you are asking for a resume. 3.--LISTEN

This is about the most important thing about the whole business. The aim of the date is for YOU to get to know more about HER in order to find out if YOU could be the person to make HER happy. Or, at least, get a tiny insight into this hugely important question. But, yup, still without making her feel like you're "asking for a resume/CV". laugh

Even if she does ask a question back at you - respond frankly and openly, but don't make it too long and casually turn to her interests, preferences and dreams again. Let her reveal her inner beauty, which will hopefully match the exterior which you obviously already like.

stooie1971: Very good shout there, good buddy.... I'll leave the phone at home!!!

Ooo... I'll need it with me though...what if she's late.... what if she gets cold feet... etc, etc

Well, you will need it just to actually DO the "I'll turn my phone off" bit! laugh

And, compliments!! NOT flattery, but real genuine compliments. Focusing on HER, as in: "you are very ......", "it feels so great to talk WITH YOU", "your taste is great", "you are incredible", "you are a great conversation partner", "you are such a good dancer". It's all about HER. (i.e., don't just say "Ohh, I had such a good time tonight", LOL)

It highly likely that she has read this thread... so a red rose is a definite no, no at this point..... In fact... I reckon she's has read this and is laughing to herself about it....

So I may have to try a different tact!!!!!!!

You´re right Stooie, it shouldn´t be a one way street... you´re there to share yourselves with each other and get to know each other. I would hate if the evening were all about me

I agree with you JB.....I am interested to hear all about her and for her to get to know me.....but that will never happen on a first date

But as this is a first date... I have to get the balance spot on.... to make sure that she is comfortable in my company and wants to do it again, and vise versa...

Stooie:

You are obviously giving this a lot of thought...Good for you. Give her 3 options that you like (you are in control, but giving her options). Yes, to a flower, but not a rose!...Maybe a sunflower or a conservative bouquet of daisies with baby´s breath...so sweet and safe. Pay the meal and let her buy drinks later.

Good luck!
