Vigen_Alikhanian: no but is none of this country bisness what russia wants to do. and i am not georgian i am armenian

how on earth we have the right to tell a country not to do somethings when we do the same bad things with iraq??

america need to learn to mind their own bisness and to stop to try to change every country. this country thinks they are gods and can try to control any other country. if any country was to need help from us, they can ask.

Duh, you live in Glendale, your last name ends in "ian" and your syntax is a dead giveaway. Your country gained independence in 1991 and how soon we forget, eh?? Now you love Russia? Next you will be a support of Turkey.

my comments has nothing to do with russia, i just use russia as an example of how this country is. this country think we can do anything we like. we go to iraq to try to change the country and the people and then we dare to tell russia what to do??? that make us hypocrites. it is none of bisness what russia wants to do and we have no rights to tell them they are wrong becose look to what we are doing.. we are no better.

why does america think they have so much power over the world?

i know when we became independent. if anything i know my countries history better then you so dont tell me.
i dont hate or love russia. why you keep saying that?? why do you care what i think about russia?? i just use it as a example.
i dont hate russians or turkish, i dont hate anyone. and i will never hate a country because of stupid desicions theyre governments make. shoud i say all rusians are bad now? is that what you want?

phoenix: I agree with trish 100%. Most people who post on these types of threads have no direct experience of what terrorism is. As for me I grew up during the Troubles in the North of Ireland. I have seen most forms of terrorist from state sponsered to John Doe pointing an AK47 at some innocent victim.

The most visible and dramatic manifestation of the post-1968 Northern Ireland conflict has been political violence. Comparative studies show that Northern Ireland is easily the most important violent conflict in Europe, accounting for the majority of terrorist incidents in Europe (US Secretary of State, 1999). The various paramilitary organizations that operate in the province are the most highly organized and equipped in Europe, particularly on the republican side.

The post-1968 violence dwarfs any previous conflict in scale, intensity and duration. More people have died in communal violence in the past quarter century in Northern Ireland — 3,289 by the end of 1999 — than in any similar period in Ireland over the past two centuries, with the possible exception of the 1922-23 Irish Civil War. In addition, over 40,000 people have been injured, representing almost 3 percent of the population. If we extrapolate these figures to Britain, some 111,000 people would have died, with 1.4 million people injured. This represents just under half of British deaths (265,000) during the Second World War. Further extrapolating the deaths to the United States, some 526,000 would have died, more than died during the Second World War (405,000) and nine times the American war dead in Vietnam.

The large number of incidents underlines the intensity of the conflict, with over 35,000 shooting incidents and nearly 15,000 bomb explosions. Many of these bomb explosions have occurred in Belfast or Londonderry, which were the targets of intense bombing campaigns by the IRA during the 1970s. Such levels of violence, maintained over a long period of time, have inevitably drawn many people into the paramilitary organizations. Estimates of paramilitary membership are difficult to make, but police statistics show that since 1972, over 17,000 people have been charged with terrorist offences, and it is likely that more people in Northern Ireland have participated in illegal paramilitary organizations than at any time since the United Irishmen rising of 1798. Once again, extrapolating these figures to Britain or the US show the intensity of the violence; shooting incidents alone would have numbered over 1 million in Britain, and over 5 million in the United States. Around half a million British people would have been charged with a terrorist offence, and nearly 2.8 million Americans. By any standards, what Ulster people euphemistically call ‘the Troubles’ is, in fact, a war.

Dawn7z: I love my country and do not believe we are terrorists. No country is perfect. None of them as they are run by humans and humans are flawed and fallible and do not make perfect decisions.
I am thankful that I didn't grow up with the type of terrorism that others have experience, and admit to a lot of naivete until 9/11. Didn't realize how much Americans were disliked globally. That's cool we have been humbled and scorned and made mistakes in these last few years big time and I wish the Iraqi people peace and that this war would end soon. Oh and for some kindness out there. Seems to be hard to find that.
I don't suppose my grandfather who was in WW2 was called a terrorist when he went to defend America and other countries from being overtaken by the Germans and Japanese. Don't suppose my friend dad who was stationed in Europe during WW2 was regarded as a terrorist.
Yes we went into Iraq and the Middle East is one big mess and has been for years.
Even with all the crap we have done we have also helped a hell of a lot of countries. Anytime there is a disaster including Indonesia when the tsunami hit and they didn't want our help we have offered and not just as a government. American people are very generous and give when something happens globally.
I am proud to be an American. I am glad that my ancestor came over here for religious freedoms. Am Cowboy and Indian and like it lol.

I think this is a very good post. Thank you Dawn!
