eyesthatknowwhy: Morning all~ Hi Kim and Kid - yep, there is a briskness in the air, time to put the shorts and tanks away I guess - but it is invigorating and nothing like a change in the season to turn over that proverbial new leaf - stay warm and cozy all - and let's all be thankful we are not being exposed to the extreme weather that many in the world are experiencing!!

wave Hi Eyes

Getting ready to put away the summer clothes. Needed to used some warmer tops last week.

Fall is definitely here. Trees that were green last week have all changed to to the beautiful fall colors. Fall is my fav time of year. Not to hot or cold, and the colors are fantastic.

Next weekend I will be putting away most of my garden. sigh sigh
When I do that, I do get a little down because it means snow is coming. No use in complaining. If being positive, will see what is beautiful in any season.

One good sign about seasons changing, if you are around to experience it, that means you are still on this side of the grass. laugh

Fall also means Thanks Giving. I do not do lots of fussing about Thanks Giving, but around that time of year, I start to reflect on what I'm grateful for. It is also something I do on Christmas and New Yrs Eve. Reflect on family, events that happened in my life, good or bad, and be thankful for the family members that are still in my life and on the ones I've lost in that year and how lucky I was to have had them in my life.

Take care every one. Natta!

Very strange - we just experienced a loud, rocking thunder storm, and for those that know a bit about me, Eyes is scared of thunder...and was not prepared...sounded like flipping bombs through the fireplace chimney! But was reassured by long distance phone call and a soothing voice ....and all is wellsmitten

Combines were going full steam ahead, appreciating the southeast wind to dry the swathes and now this...wonder how much is left sitting in the field? Think it may be mostly Canola? Hate to see the farmer's struggle, cuz if they do, we all do, in one way or another and the input costs of fuel are simply enough to put it all over the edge so to speak...awww, life on the prairies!!! thumbs up angel

Hi, Sorry but you don’t know what cold is, It is -24C here in Manitoba this morning, and it is only going to get colder. I would love it if it was a scorching 5 degrees.

Beleive it or not, but I like it that it is finally frozen. All that rain we got just before the snow fall made a muddy mess here. Hundreds of sharp hooves, punching the mud, tractors making ruts, just feed livestock. Now we need four inchs of snow to make things smooth enough to walk without thisting an ankle. Other reasons for liking the frozen weather: It is much more healthy for man and beast, when the temperature stays below freezing. Rather warm wet days, and frozen nights.

Besides it is here to stay for the next few months. Might as well dress for the weather and enjoy it.

gotta go joy cartwheel hole

wave Hi Loner and all!!!

I too, like the winter. The crisp and cold; no I don't enjoy the -25 temps but it is part of the cycle that matters so much. The snowfall is a cover over the scars that have been made on the earth and the moisture for the renewal of spring and the do-over we all to often forget that we are blessed with.
Winter, the sound of skate blades on the ice, the echo of curling rocks hitting each other, the crunch of the snow beneath your feet, kids laughing and screaming their way down the sliding hill....the hoar frost, the pristine and constant white after a good snowfall and watching a child try to catch snowflakes with her tongue!
Don't forget how incredible warm treats, edible or drinkable taste after getting a little cold outside! angel
