HealthyLiving: Where have you been? The U. S. Government announced its bankrupcy in I believe it was 1974!!! Since then, they began printing money for whatever they needed. This year, they did away with the M3, which was a record of how much was printed. As of March 2008, they were printing $2Billion per day. That was when they still had to record the M3. No telling how much they have printed off the record since that time. There has been nothing available in Fort Knox since the 70's. So TRUE... the United States goes back to the press and prints WAY more than a few trillion dollars based on NO redeemable asset!!!

We are up the creek without a paddle!!!

In Canada...? When the US announced its bankruptcy I was only 7 and I didn't even know what that would have meant. I never knew the actual depth of what had occurred or what was and is occurring now until the news pieces we receive here could be assembled into something composing some sort of the truth.
I think that the 'American Dream' that is sold to the world is the pillar of why the country remains fiscally soluble. The advertising (more like a Hollywood movie trailer) has caused most of the world to buy into the fiction and it is this lie that keeps the US from total collapse. Countries like Saudi Arabia own 6+% of the physical US, and God only knows how many similar investors have substantial investments.
Yes the World Bank is the reason this fiction is beginning to fall apart, they are careful to dismantle it one block at a time though as the weight of debt throughout the world that will come when the American financial dissolution peaks, will cripple virtually every economy at once. Digital currency is a large part of this problem today as we no longer even have much of our money at hand, and here in Canada (I am unsure as to the situation in the States) it is against the law to have more than 10,000 dollars at hand... hoarding or some such nonsense.
Thanks for the in depth view of how bad it really is. I will be doing some research in greater depth now of course as we are neighbours and I know how bad this will affect the economy of everyone, especially us Canadians.handshake

FLASH!! SPECIAL NEWS BULLETIN!!
We interrupt the dire and drastic economic news with a message of HOPE: OF FINANCIAL SALVATION!!
The chairmen of the Bulgarian Foundation on Cosmic Research has just unveiled a new unit of currency to be used between extraterretials and Earthlings! This is no joke! The 'Galactos'---a 3 gram coin made from chrome and nickel was unveiled just last week at a conference on UFO's in Sofia, Bulgaria.
"We are offering the galactos as a means of payment between planets. It will represent the Earth in all financial relations in the cosmos," Kiril Kanev told the conference. He is now awaiting an official response to his proposal from the Bulgarian Prime Minister and the UN.
When asked what good will the new unit do for the sinking economies of the West, he is said to have responded," It has to be better than a system without anything to give it real value."

My apologies Healthy, but this just seemed to have been tailored made to fit in with a monetary system that no longer has any serious value and is now solely one based upon debt. Who knows, the galactos can't be any worse can it...%)

There you go... be sure to share your research finds with all of us!
You've got to dig or look to Europe for the truth. The U.S. is still trying to make believe it is not as bad as it really is.peace

HealthyLiving: I have been following the comming global financial crises for quite some time now.

I am very concerned. You should be also. Are you PREPARED?

It has been predicted that the crises would begin in the United States
as a gradual occurrence thru the fall of the housing market. We have been seeing this take place. This is the lead-in to the BIG CRASH which is supposed to take place the end of this month, SEPTEMBER 2008.

The U.S. government did not bail out Lehman Brothers bank.
Today, stocks have fallen on Wall Street tremendously.

The World has been watching and waiting for the U.S. financial crises.
It will effect the entire world. Many countries have been preparing and have plans to try to not get hit as hard.

I have read many of the speeches given by Mervyn King, head of the Bank Of England. He gave warning to the people last January, to SAVE money and spend LESS and to prepare for the hit.

But here in America, we have been told to SPEND, SPEND, SPEND and the government even gave tax payers extra money to spend!!!

Why is the U.S. presenting a false front to its people? Why have we not been warned of the comming financial crash? Why have they been pretending that everything is OKAY?

People, I advise you to brace yourselves and get ready for the hardest times this world has ever seen. The time is upon us. Prepare!

Thank you all,
HL

I trade the stockmarket. I made a comment last week to my business partners that Lehman Brothers Bank will go bankrupt. Some listened, some didn't. We went short on the stock @ $18.27 & took a bucket load of $$$$$$$ when it plummeted to just 0.16.

We are facing the hardest times. I learnt how to buy a falling stock & turn it into profit. Don't accept the doom & gloom. Learn how to trade. As in any part of the world, we allow our governments to manipulate our thinking. One day everything is rosy & the next they tell us negative stuff.

Please, do yourself a favor & look into what I have saidhandshake

The papers here have been full coverage over England's refusal to bail out Lehman Brothers and how others turned them down. Many more knowledgeable people from Wall St. and experts from around Europe have been interviewed than from what I've seen in the US press. In some cases, not even 2 full paragraphs or interviews with hard questions about the falling housing crisis. The US papers are basically empty of either information or even the topic other than some side-bar 'news briefs'...how typical it's what was labeled as 'benign censorship'...

HealthyLiving: Girl, I know that you do care.
But it was almost 2 hours after I posted this thread, that you commented on it and at that time, it only had 9 views, and 3 of them are mods. So, only 6 people cared to have a wonder at what Financial Meltdown might be about, or feel that it was an important topic to investigate.

I understand being strapped. Since laying my truck over 3 nights ago, I have absolutely no income at all. I had just taken a weeks vacation with no pay, so I received a -$231 paycheck, as I still owe the insurance on the truck, whether or not I work.

But I have still stocked up on staple foods to get me through hard times, I have ammo to shoot beasts if it comes down to that and my garden is doing well. I have firewood in case the electric grid goes down or if it gets cut off for non payment, LOL. I have warm clothing, blankets, sleeping bags etc.

I know that many on CS only read the forums and do not post. The counter shows how many have read. True, many enjoy the games, and I play at times myself. But as someone else has posted, "Today is Black Monday", it's time to wake up and pay attention!

I truely appreciate your comments and I pray God's best to you, that He will keep you safe and give you the wisdom needed to prepare for survival. He will help you and show you what you need. Just ask Him.

I live on a small island. The people here are very resourceful. My neighbour, for example, works for the government delivering oxygen tanks to the local hospital. He is also a farmer and grows many different types of vegetables and fruits. He makes his own wine which could be used as a fuel additive. He laso has his own farm machinery business - both as an agent for new machines but also repairs them. He is also a builder and has not only built a very nice old-style farmhouse but a block of four apartments. He has taught his young son many things and I am sure he shall be as resourceful as his father.

Another neighbour again works for the government. He is a chef in the local hospital. He is also a farmer, and he also has lots of chickens and sells the eggs. He mostly built his own new house himself.

It seems that many people here have at least three jobs - of which one is working for the government, one working their own fields and another job almost as a hobby. Tourists think they are lazy, but they start work at 5 a.m. most days and are having their lunch-break by 10 a.m.!

These islands got blockaded in the second world war. They almost starved to death, but they didn't; they survived.

Times of recession are very tough, but it doesn't mean we are all going to starve to death - really! grin

You have given us great examples here of ways to be resourceful. True, it can be done, that's why I am encouraging others to prepare. Many live in cities, apartments, have no gardens, wouldn't know how to plant a garden and grow food. If they can't buy it at the store, they will starve. If they can not go to a job, they will loose their home. Many do not know how to survive. I want them to know that things here are not honkey dorey. Hard times are upon us, they need to figure out how they will survive. Many will lose jobs. Businesses will close. Banks will close at a very fast rate. Fuel already cost too much and winter is comming.

Sounds like you are in a beautiful place, must be nice! Our struggle here is only begining. They say it will be worse than the Great Depression.

Believe it or not, many will starve to death. They already are and it hasn't even hit us hard yet.

wave Hi Riya!!!

I have no way of knowing how bad it will get. I do know that it has been in the making for quite awhile. Some have been tracking it since 1974, waiting for what is now happening.
I have read speeches by Mervyn King even from last December and last September where he was concerned of this happening and tried to prepare England for it.
I just wish the U.S. wasn't in denial.

I think that preparing for the worst if we can imagine what that even is, will help.

Wish they would tell us what it all really means!!!

I didn't believe people who said there wouldn't be a slump in the housing markets. I didn't believe those who also said it would be short-lived when it happened. I forecast it would take at least five years for property to recover. The average UK house earner felt very rich - he/she earned £80 ($160) per day working but also saw his/her house going up in value by on average £150 ($300) per day. That kinda 'money for nothing' cannot continue indefinitely.........

HOWEVER, I DO NOT BELIEVE ALL THOSE WHO PREACH DOOM AND GLOOM EITHER!

These cyclical things happen - it's just this time our financial products are just that more sophisticated so they prevented the cycle starting sooner and it also means it shall (most likely) take longer to 'shake out' and the next cycle of stupidity start all over again.

'One man's gain is another's loss' - and vice versa.

I do NOT wish to go back to a hard life living off the land (not that I ever did in the first place); however I do think that there is a limit to my needs and wants - even if that doesn't agree with the economic theory that 'man has infinite wants'.............. I'd prefer to drive one car than own three (hell, I can only drive one at a time) - and I'd prefer to drive that one car on a nice open road with a few fellow travellers - not some total foul gridlock.

There must be a 'middle road'. There has to be a middle road. There has to be a way that we can have as reasonable standard of living without having really ugly consequences.

There are simply too many people on my planet.

We need a good old-fashioned world war to 'clear the air' - then we can start 'afresh', but then make all the same old mistakes we've always made!

Does it HAVE to be a cycle of so much war and destruction forever?

Sad, isn't it?

sigh
