mylifewithu: Same here on gas prices but thats still lower than a lot of the country. Thats great they found work there, see it's helping to open up jobs and a American needs work they will step in and take it. Over around Tahlequah ok they used nothing but illegals in the plant nurseries. Americans were always trying to get hired on there. It was the poorest county in the whole state , cause people couldn't find work. The illegals took all of them including restaurant jobs. My indian husband at the time got lucky and worked for one Plant Nursery for awhile, and they were paying illegals the same as him which was 3.50 an hour over min. wage.
I don't know any thing about the area now , but I bet the economy is better over there.

I understand the purpose of your thread Cherokeemoon, but I disagree with the premise.
This is the greatest country on Earth. Throughout history, poverty, slaughter, wars have been the norm. We have never had it so good.
The average poor person in this country would be considered rich in 2/3 of other countries of the world.
Americans give more time, effort, money, resources to the world than all other countries combined.
During the Great Depression, we had 25% unemployment. Today we have 6%
The US stock market is still one of the best long term investments in the world.
A Hurricane in Galveston Texas 100 years ago killed 8000 people! Today, we have plenty of warning to prevent such loss of life.
Religion, politics are no different today than they were 200 years ago...they will always be contentious issues.
We are not in a mess. We have problems, but compared to what it was throughout history, I feel blessed to be born and live in this country. I am not proud to be an American, I am blessed to be an American. I am proud of America's accomplishments here and throughout the world, but I am humbled to be part of this country.

I agree how much longer can we hold out with prices soaring like they are.I saw yesterday over 438 babies sick from formular that came from China. We are making them rich off of imports while they kill us without firing a shot.Lead in the paint on childrens toys from there.Where does it all end?We have very little health care here,I know that from personal experience.I am on a fixed income and all of a sudden I am having trouble making it stretch, just like everyone else.

Most Americans are WONDERFUL people!
But we are NOT like our Leaders!!!
The people do need to stand together. We need to face up to the fact that our country is in a BIG MESS, Do the best we can to be here for one another. Do what we can to help our neighbors. If we join together, give, and not be selfish, We Can and Will SURVIVE!!!

Tk u healthy, except for a play on words we are all on the same page here.I appreciate ur answer.I dont know if it will ever happen or not,but it doesnt hurt to try.
I for one believe Very deeply about our GREAT country. In the past when our country has had problems from 9/11 to hericanes and economic's. When the chips are we need to pull together. I have been in the service and can think of no better way to show the other countries and burn our flag and try to stop our way of life. We have always stood up for other countries in need, but now when we are having problems, no one seems to want to help. I think that shows where the world is now. They only care when they need something. Just my take on this, I will stand behind our great country no matter what happens. THANK YOU
