I think that there is life elsewhere in the Universe. there are too many planet, and I find it difficult to believe that only Earth is capable to support life. life on these planets might be different from ours, and thus makes it more difficult for us to identify it.
regarding ufos and abductions, I can't say if they are true or not, as I've never experienced them. and it depends if technology on other planets is more advanced than ours or not.

Charlos this is interesting. Things to think about. It was on the TV a few days ago and people were being hypnotised. Yes the aliens they told about all looked very similar. People, one man soo emotional he was crying, told of the exames he had to be going through. He could not even tell all.

Okay lets assume there is life elsewhere. Like human beings you mean? I find it difficult too that in this huge universe and earth being the smallest planet, that only on here is there life. Because if this would be the case, the question arizes; why is there life only on this planet?

no, I don't believe that they have to be like humans. we always expect to find something similar to us, but one cannot say what type of life can evolve on another planet, there are too man factors that might effect the evolution of this race.
Yes, I believe in UFO's. One thing that gives it credence to me is that most pilots believe in them (like my dad), and they tend to know what's in the sky with them. As most are also ex-Air Force, they also tend to know what our flying machines are capable of and what they're not.
The other thing that gives it credence for me is that, yes, I believe there is life on other planets. The Universe is so unimaginably and inconceivably large that it doesn't make any sense that ours would be the only planet within it to sustain intelligent life. Then there are the writings of ancient peoples like the Aztecs and Mayans, and the knowledge that ancient peoples had when they didn't have the science that we have now. Look at ancient Aztec/Mayan/Incan statues of men with rocket packs on their backs, just for one example. For more examples, read a book called "Chariots of the Gods", or "Gold of the Gods", both by the same author (there's a third one, but I haven't read it). Some interesting info in those.
Planet Earth is abt. 4.6 billion years old. For 3.5 billion years primitive protozoa exist, for 1 billion years metazoa, for 530 million years vertebrates, for 5 million years humans and since some thousand years ago we call ourselves more or less intelligent. One might assume hat this evolutionary speed is representative for extraterrestrials, because naturally complex things need a long time to develop.
The universe contains about 100 billion galaxies with about 100 billion stars each. Enough room thus. The question of extraterrestrial life may be answered only in probabilites right now.
Alien life in space: very very likely. Intelligent life in space: likely. Life near us (~ 100 light-years): likely. Intelligent life near us (~ 100 light-years): very very unlikely.
How can we discover alien life, if it doesn't communicate with us ? One possibility would be the finding of ozone on exoplanets, because it seems that ozone can only form in a metabolistic life process. A corresponding project to detect ozone is planned for the future.
On top there’s the timing problem.
We have to keep in mind that at this distance communications would be mostly a one way street. Because if we receive a signal from 100 light years away it would require another 100 years to answer and a return answer will not reach us before 200 years. Not even thinking about the time needed for physical trips.
If for instance an alien civilization had broadcast its existence starting two million years ago, we would have missed it since at that time only primitive hominids roamed the African continent, barely having invented primitive stone tools.
Similarly, our own electronic projection - starting less than one hundred years ago - would hit another planet millions of years after its civilization had expired, or alternatively, long before it evolved. In that case no communication would be possible ‘cause we attempted to communicate millions of years apart.
The probability that any one civilization could interact with another civilization in this universe ”at the right time” certainly is astronomically small, that is, almost non-existent.

I have read these books a looong time ago. Von Daniken???. He even got scriptures out of the Bible in the OT to show "prove" of his claims. It is a mystery, roads out in nowhere and going nowhere. Different things to be seen at times only from the air. In his books he shows the pictures.

charlos: U.F.O.'s in aviation ? Yes, every day. I'm a pilot myself.
ETI-U.F.O.'s ? No way ! Plain wish-wash.
That is it! If there would be life elsewhere it would be so far away. Why so far? None of that makes sense to me. It goes over my head big time. (It does not take much)
nomindgames: My uncle worked at Air Force Base in Roswell when the famous Roswell landing occurred
Well, there are a l o t of stories flying around if it comes to UFOs, even though a UFO per definition has nothing to do with “extraterrestial intelligence” it just describes an unidentified flying object at the time of discovery, nothing more.
And the case of the Roswell Incident back in 1947 was plainly a press issue. The local Roswell newspaper printed a nice story immediately after a phone call from “a friendly” Public Relations Officer (Walter Haut), they never received anything in writing from him! As this was an excellent story they published it immediately only to withdraw it the next day. This case was quickly forgotten and almost completely ignored for more than 30 (!) years.
Then, in 1978, ufologist Stanton T. Friedman interviewed Major Jesse Marcel, who was involved with the original recovery of the debris in 1947. Marcel expressed his belief that the military had covered up the recovery of an alien spacecraft. His story circulated through UFO circles, being featured in some UFO documentaries at the time. Later also the National Enquirer ran its own interview with Marcel, garnering national and worldwide attention for the “Roswell Incident”. Marcel described the debris found on the scene as aluminium parts and balsa wood ! Certainly very common materials to bridge the universe ! At the end, as always in such cases: just rumours, nothing solid. Later Hollywood jumped on it and strangely enough, people do believe what they see in movies!
Of course I was interested myself in that story and did my own research when I was at the GAFADS in Fort Bliss / El Paso. I've also been many times at Holloman AFB / Alamogordo, NASA Dryden Research Center / Edwards AFB and Wright Patterson AFB / Dayton, OH. In all my discussions I could not find even one single hint that would point towards the probability of the “Roswell ET story”. So what was it? Just a huge espionage balloon of the so-called MOGUL-series, classified information at that time, therefore the made-up weatherballoon story.
And other “mass sightings”? I would call it “mass hysteria” as seen many times in history, think of the many Marian apparitions (e.g. Fatima in 1917) in the last thousand years…..today people see UFOs instead.
