At various times in my life I have sold my house, given away/sold my material possessions and lived permanently in a large blushing camping car.

Yeah Yeah, did all the tourist stuff.Paris,Venice,Madrid,London,Prague, yawn
But the journey was sometimes as spectacular as the destination,

One stretch of road that I returned to again and again, just because it was sooooooooo extraordinary was
the Millau viaduct in France. Wether on it,under it or near it,it´s the most extrordinary thing. And if the French get very "French" about it you can simply remind them it was designed by an English architect laugh Loads of stuff about it on You Tube btw if you want to see what I´m talking about. The central support towers are higher than that other tall structure in Paris! wow

Now the interactive bit.........................

Do you have a stretch of road that is unforgettable to drive?

PS The best thing of all about living in a camping car is when you go to a 3 day music festival, you have your own shower and toilet. applause cool

The worst thing is that your smelly musician friends know you have a shower and a toilet...and a fridgedrinking But then you do get to park in the hospitality areagrin

Bigger than ME gongman...doubt it...I have two things in common with an elephant. And no I don't have big earsrolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

Seriously though the Glen Shane pass just outside Derry in the North East of the Emerald Isle is stunning..As for the viaduct i agree it's an amazing piece of work and anybody who has a chance to see it...see it.

Heading into Clarence Town Long Island Bahamas,at Daybreak on a Mailboat.
Coming in from the Southeast, the first thing you see on the Hill are the Catholic and Anglican Churches gleaming in the morning light.
One of the most beautiful sights I have ever seen.
If I can find a Pic of it on the Web,I will post it in a Thread.conversing wave

I will find a free photo space somewhere to link in some pictures I have got to add to this thread.

The Mailboat, Conrad, lovely image.

Approaching land in many parts of the world is an incredible feeling and sight, the scenery is so available to take in.

Still, entering the Granada road from Motril down where I live is breath taking. Suddenly there is a wall of rocks and the cars coming through bottom of the ravine looks so tiny and vulnerable. Do this at sunrise and it glows all red.

As I said, I will get some images posted and linked here.

Inspiring thread, thanks Gongman beer

Hey I know this road well.... Used to live in Orgiva,in my camper for over a year. One of the biggest alternative places in Europe. The Dragon is now the biggest FREE festival. One week long,no police,no security and no rules, but the people have a great time and look after each other. Hardened festival goers only though! Abandon reality all who enter......................................grin
