We men respect them when they dont want a relationship, but when we say it; they try to tell us there will be somebody out there for you. I am sick of people saying that. I never tell that to nobody.

Why do you think that women have a problem when they wish something nice for you? Very few people on this planet want to live in isolation. Most need company, preferably a partner or companion. That is a normal and healthy attitude. To want that for someone else shows a caring nature. Why can't you see that, instead of taking the attitude that it has to be a problem with women?

I don't think it has anything to do with age. It has to do with attitude. So may I ask have you dated these women for a while saying lets do this or that and making it sound like there might be some type of commitment from you? Just curious. Women are very relational creatures by nature or at least most of us are. Best thing is to be very upfront and tell someone hey I just want a friends with benefits situation or I am not ready for anything to develop. Why should an older woman be less inclined to desire a relationship than a younger one? lol.
Obviously that is in some ways a compliment to you. I have found with the guys I dated that were a bit younger that I didn't want a relationship happening.

"oh you will find somebody". Why do you think this simple comment has to do with having a relationship or not? Finding someone one does not mean or lead to a relationship unless you want it.
OLDER WOMEN...hmmm having a problem with your not wanting a relationship.... considering I know more single OLDER women than ones in a relationship .... and the OLDER women I know, enjoy being single having the freedom to live their own lives.

I think you will find that there are plenty of "older" women out there (and here) who get contacted by younger men offering them a relationship and not all of those younger men take no for an answer because in their mind "older woman" equals desperate ...
In the past, I have also noticed on many men over 50's profiles, on this site and others, that they are looking for women age from 18 to 35/40 ish
Another thing I have noticed is that men over 40 who find themselves still single or divorced but have yet no children are looking for much younger partners ... may be to allow for the possibility or still having children

Everyone has a reason for looking for who they're looking for, be it to massage their ego or some other need/reason ...

I believe your point wasn't that you were rejecting them, but that they were telling you that you would feel differently some day about wanting a relationship.
Maybe the older women are assuring you from their more experienced viewpoint that you will find someone and sing a different tune someday. That would be why I would say that to a younger man who says he doesn't want a relationship.
Yes, you've been burned at some point. So have we all. However, not all women are the same, just as not all men are the same. It's a matter of finding the one who is right for you.
I'll repeat here what I posted on another thread: my late husband hadn't had a serious relationship for 20 years when we met, and he wasn't looking for one. At 51 (when we met), he was content to be alone. Then we met, evolved into friends, then handfasted (old celtic ceremony) within months. A year later we got legally married, something neither of us had planned to do. I made the last two years the happiest of his life, and he did the same for me for those two years. Neither of us regretted it.
So, you say you don't want a relationship, I say I believe that someday you'll change your mind, for you are young. I hope that someday you find a wonderful woman who loves you just the way you are, and for whom you feel the same way. It's beautiful when you find that.
