Fallingman: I am sure you are proud to be an American, and nothing wrong with that. However, I personally doubt the truth of all of those stories!

Sentimental propoganda is not necessary to bolster your national pride. Insulting and inaccurate stories about other countries are not needed to make you justifiably proud of your own country.

I wasn't really looking at the stories as truth...but as a reminder of past historical accomplishments to be proud of...which every country has I'm sure.....wave wink hug teddybear hug bouquet

I understand your point but the first one isn't true....even if Colin Powell said it....which I seriously doubt. The other three are all simple anti-French tales.

yep, it sure disappoints me too.....and for sometime now, i've been reading alot of disrespect about america...wiether these quotes are true or not?...i would bet they are, because american dignitarys have always had to put up with ungrateful nations after we've helped them....propaganda?....well, strait from the horse's mouthprofessor rolling on the floor laughing tongue
