Hi Guys,

I have been in an accident, injurying my leg & my back.

I am coming to terms that I can't do the things that I so took for granted in my everyday life. My 2 great loves in life is to walk marathons & to dance.

My diagnosis is, 2 crushed discs in my vertebrae & the cushioning in my right knee has been damaged.

I am off work indefinitely.

I am not looking for sympathy, because I believe that this is just a test, to see how I handle the situation.

Sure, I felt anger & frustration, but I am gratefull to be alive.

Have you been stopped by an accident & how have you dealt with it.

I injured my disc years ago and can't do some things I like but I'm ok for the most part as long as I avoid certain things like heavy lifting etc...but I was months recovering and even cleaning the house was a chore that was painful...but it got a bit better although not totally healed..and it was rough for me cause at the time my twins were only 5 so it involved changing things quite a bit....wine

comfort hug hug Glad to hear you're ok.
I was in a car accident many years ago that left me with a chronic lumbar strain and a few other problems. Exercise is the key. When you're able of course; don't rush things until you're doctor says it's ok. Yoga and Pilates are both great.

hey man so sorry for your accident and i have never been in an accident but i will give this advice.

Keep a positive outlook

Never give up

Set short term goals that are within reach and you already have your long term goals set.thumbs up

Check around and see if you can get in contact with other people who have recovered from the same type of problems, they will be great insperation 4 you.

Hang in there dude i'm sure you can do whatever you set your mind to.....

I'm so sorry to hear about your accident, Manyfeathers. sad flower

I'm glad that you've got a positive attitude, that goes a long way toward healing. Don't give up on anything. I know a man who was injured in an accident and told he'd never walk again, and today he dances. There are many stories like that because people refused to accept that diagnosis and fought back.

The human body is capable of immense repair, and the mind has a lot to do with that. Diet and nutrition do as well by giving the body what it needs to facilitate its ability to repair and rebuild.
