No, it does not make you shallow at all...

Truth of the matter is Jenny, he is that height and there is not much you can do about it...

As humans, we are entitled to be attracted to whatever pleases us.
If a shorter man really bothers you, then it might linger as an issue. Who knows, he may have Napoleonic issues. If his person is less important than his personality, see how he fairs. He could be quite a darling.
(Personally, I am 5'2 & no man feels attractive unless he's at least a few over me. It's just how I perceive masculine elements & attractiveness)

I had this very experience right here on CS a couple of years ago....we both had read each other's profile saw what the other was looking for and decided we were not it (he was 5'4" my profile said 5'9" and taller, his profile said slim/slender and i am very proud to say that i am neither!! I am very curvy!)...

Anyhow, we were introduced by another member who used to follow my posts here on the forums, thought our PERSONALITIES would match and hooked us up....

We were together for a year, one of the best years of my life...and to this day he is still one of the greatest loves of my life...other circumstances caused us to go our separate ways, but height was NOT one of them.....

I once went out with a nurse and he was the same height as I was, I only felt awkward when he seemed uncomfortable about it, and you could tell. To me? it is not how tall they are it is how they carry themselves, besides who says short men can't be fun? or masculine? they put their britches on the same way weather they are short or tall, it is all in the eye of the beholder,,,and I mean that. No you are not being shallow you have preferences and that is your right, but if you are not interested in him other than friendship because of this then I would let him know, that way he won't go on thinking there may be more at a later date,,,good luck
