Well, a big travelling Funfair lands in my town next week for whole week and I'm considering having my fortune told there. Have had my cards read about 3 times in the past but this was by contacting someone out of newspaper or by going to one of the group reading partys. Never had them read at a fair before...

Only problem is there's usually around 10 caravans there each one complete with it's own self proclaimed ace fortune teller... So, does anyone know of any signs on how to choose the most legitimate one as there's bound to be fakes there just out to make money.

Also, if you've had your fortune done at a fair or by someone out of the newspaper then which did you feel was the most accurate reading or did you find them equally as good or equally as bad dunno laugh

You could ask to see the palms of their hands.
And check their 'honesty lines'.

Seriously,though,my message to you is,
Don't dabble in the occult!

I know what i am talking about.
I have read a lot of Dennis Wheatly books.

Well you need to find a real Romany Gypsy, so look for a caravan with her oldman outside
doing this violin and not the one with Brad Pitt doing this irish drinking boxing

You could try going round all the caravans and pretend to knock on the door(don't actually knock)
If someone say's come in , Thats the one to see laugh

If she say's come in Tracy shock wow Call me.....

There were 16 or more fortune-tellers at the Fair on the Town Moor in Newcastle. The weather this year weather was not too bad, but in previous years, it has been very wet, but none of the fortune-tellers forecast it was going to be very wet, attendances would be down and that the fair was going to loose money.

laugh If I behaved like that around all the caravans. I'd "at best" be arrested for lurking or prowling sir bobby or "at worst" they'd think I was insane and would be carted off to the loony bin until the fair had packed up and was well on the way to Nottingham laugh

I just looked on the website about it and it says there's plenty of good palm readers on there so I was on the wrong track anyway thinking I was having my cards read doh

I've decided to lather my hands in handcream for a week then stand outside the caravans and ask people who come out of them if it was any good laugh

My mum is a card reader and she never advertises, all her clients come from word of mouth and she's booked up for months.

As far as fun fair fortune tellers go I tried one once but it was alot of money for nothing. all she did was dance around me with some smoking sage and a feather and then told me things I already knew. no startling revelations either - she was very vague.

My advice would be don't bother with the funfair ask around for someone who comes recommended.

I think card reading is quite safe but I would never dabble with ouija boards those things are scary.

Card reading may or may not be quite safe.
For some it is the 1st stepping stone to a nightmare that there is no waking up from.
No doubt, some will say i am being melodramatic.
Dismiss me as a crackpot,even.
Of course, the lure of this, with some people,is just to see,if there is anything there.
But,once you have seen,you can't unsee.
Better not to see,in the first place.devil

i agree with muleguy and have heard that for example if you are told about a death through the cards,it can mean a an actual death or the end of a friendship/relationship,how the heck are you supposed to know the difference, very scary

The thing about finding out your future is that our futures aren't written in stone and we can chose to change our destiny's any way we see fit. Fortune tellers and card readers can only show us the path in front of us but we all have the free will to chose any path we want.

It's an odd paradox that by knowing our future we have already changed it.

This is down to the skills of the individual reader - I have some Tarot cards which are based on druidry and are some of the least scarry interpretations I have ever come across, quite the contrary in fact, there is great depth of wisdon which is based on personality types as well as the ancient wisdoms of Druidry and Wicca.

Whenever I do cards for people I never allow them the information in a 'cold' way, I take a long time and discuss areas where the indications may apply and how this may be achieved - this is why I couldnt possibly do them for strangers.
