spiceygamble: It's a bit of the creative madness effect.
Highly entertaining, I tell you.
Perhaps a nice layer of straw over the nails, you know... for texture & fiber.
Fiber is very important in ones life.

doh Of course the lack of fibre, no wonder i wake up feeling like I've been sleeping on a bed of nails.

Wonder if Candy floss would work?

Actually, I make a bed about every 3-4 years or so, as I don't have the time, resources or inclination to make one every day. Some are old fashioned "rope beds" and some are made from aged and peeled saplings/logs. I made one earlier this year from 1X12 rough finished white pine lumber. It now resides in our bedroom. thumbs up

Yes it is... Something about literally lying in a bed of my own making that is infinitely more satisfying than simply using the metaphor. laugh

I neglected to mention (this is in reference and deference to the thread title) that - while I sometimes make my beds in the morning - I also make them in the afternoon and sometimes even in the evening. There are even times when I'll start making them in the morning and work at it the whole day through and into the evening (with, of course, the requisite bathroom, lunch and smoke breaks). professor

No! I dress the bed only when I change the sheets. And being the well defined housekeeper that I am, I ALWAYS change my bedding at Christmas AND Easter!!yay

Galactic_bodhi: Excessive attention to cleanliness denotes a need for control. People like this send up a red flag in the relationship department for me. Being clean is one thing. Being obsessive about denotes that eventually, you'll feel the need for me to be "cleaned" up...

I do fine. Don't try to fix me.

I'm no way obsessive about having a clean house. I only clean house about 1 time a week. But I do make my bed every morning I wake up. To me that's not obsessive, it's just self-esteem.

I almost always make my bed, unless I oversleep and don't have time to. I think the sheets feel better when they are crisp. I wash my bedding weekly which I am beginning to think makes me a freak.
