The physical withdrawl is 72 hours, so you have done it cheers Well done!

I wonder the value of patches, given the length of time of withdrawl they are just prolonging the problems. confused I wonder if they are trying to sell more patches?laugh

I have tried a few times! The pound shop in shirley is doing nicotine chewing gum! That helps! And cheaper than patches too!

Good luck!grin

A homer simpson moment: 72 hours!!doh I thought it was three days.

Seriously though I think your comment on the patches is quite valid.

I've got some inhalors and more importantly I now have a renewed sense of purpose, the inhalors are emergency only as I'm sticking with cold turkey and nice thoughts.

Thanks for all your input and support.

i am very close to giving up, i am taking a different way through and lowing the number i have each week, was 20 a day i reduced by 2 a day every week,it works well i am down to 10 a day now and feel no different in wanting to smoke so for me its a great way of doing it

soon ill try 5 a day then ill try hack it completely,at 5 day you have alot less risk of really bad withdrawel it makes it eaiser and if you cut down in stages it also take away the factor of slipping and starting again

id reconmend this way over patches gum groups etc any day thumbs up

everyone is different though so not everything will work the same way for everyone

good luck to you

Looks good but there seems to be some bad press lurking around

I think it's prescription only so your GP would have to decide on suitability.

I think I'm through the worst and muleguy52 you're dead right about the craving lurking in the back of your mind.

Dear paidinfull,

Due to you stopping smoking others like myself are joining your band wagon.

And while I fully understand your reasons for quitting, you couldn't have picked a worse time to stop..wot with the credit crunch..

Now Gordon Brown is going to have to come up with another way to raise money he has borrowed to bail out Blighty. And the tax on ciggies brouth in a lot of revenue...

So in a nutshell when council taxes increase next year..it will be your fault..
