There's this girl I like. Her name is Jessica. She's in my lyric writing class. I think she is really cute but I want to get to know her better. I don't know how to approach her. Any helpful tips? thanks.

What works best ? Just start up a conversation. Even if others join in, just look and be interested in what she is saying. Ask questions. That's it. Good luck!
Thanks. The problem is that I can't carry on a conversation long. I might have a lot of ideas of what to talk about but then somehow I tend to forget them.

have a smile on your face and walk up to her and let her know you would love to take her out for coffee and discuss some of the lyrics in class. You gotta take a chance and be confident when you approach her.

Well, you both have something in common. Its a starting point. Ask her views on some of your lyrics?? As its something you both enjoy, you should be able to maintain the conversation for longer...??

Aww I wish you luck !! Why not just ask her to join you for a coffee , it would break the ice and you could get to know her as a friend ! Go on you know you want to
I could say be yourself but i dont know who you are.so how long have you both been in the same class??...are you in any other classes together??...how old is she and you???
But going on a generalisation .....Day 1
why not pretend to trip near her and bump into her gently.... hey it will get you noticed and modestly with a bit of laughter apologise.......
Speak from the heart what I mean by that is when you go up to talk to hear dont think about what you are going to say just talk to her like you would talk to anyone els. Dont worry about trying to impress her be yourself show confidence. If you speak from the heart thats were you will be able to let her see the you and you will be able to see the real her. So good luck hope this helps

I was at a function the other evening and as luck would have it I found myself seated next to the lovely pruscilla and her swishy mane of impudent, fiery red hair. anyhoo, after watching her daintily maul her way through a leg of venison I realised that the conversation had begun to flag. I began to worry that perhaps the lovely pruscilla would become bored after she'd finished devouring the cake tray and would be lost to me forever, but, do you know what saved the evening from disaster? why, nothing more than a simple bag of glue! you see, it was while she was wrestling a crate of after 8 mints away from the waiters that I took the opportunity to pull out a little bag and it was while I was inhaling deeply over the glazed cherrys that I caught her staring at me. well, not wishing to appear rude I offered her the bag which she inhaled with some gusto and you know even though she ended up passing out over the fondants with drool on her christian dior blouse and gravy pooling round her manolos, I have never found a woman more attractive. as the effects of the glue took hold of me and I slumped under the table I had time to thank the gods for that modern day marvel, the little bag of glue.

The best way to do it, at least for me is to just go up to her and say what you feel, she will either be interested, or she won't, just be prepaired for whatever happens.. you will never know until you try..

That would be way too much drama for my taste, LOL... I can just picture that - "you're really cute and I'd like to get to know you better".... What do you even reply to such a statement? And why not proceed directly to the business (of getting to know her better) by asking something of interest....
But, I'm sure it would work for other women. I just don't have the necessary amount of self-confidence, but am helpful enough to answer the guy's questions.

There would be no drama really, nothing wrong with saying something like, hey my name is.. been kind of noticing you, you seem to be a nice person.. would you like to share some poems or something?.. I have a few that I would like your opinion on, would you mind taking a look at them?... What's so bad about that?
AudrysSis: Ahh, worded this way, it does sound a bit better. LOL
Hey, I do try to be tactful, but still if we don't take chances, we will never know.. you only live once, no sense it letting it pass you by, the older we get the less time we have to live.. that is if we live to see tomorrow, might as well do what we can before out time comes..jmo
Example: What are some good song writing books that you've read and why do you like them. (open end)
Do you like pizza. (closed end) answer will be yes or no.
Prepare a few open end questions before you start. let her talk and you inquire about what she talks about with open end questions. She will like you because you are so easy to talk with. She will be comfortable and relaxed talking about what she knows.
