This weekends viewing included...

Syrian with George Clooney, complicated plot but great film and an insight into how world politics (well the USA and the Middle East) work.

The Pursuit of Happyness (deliberately mis-spelt) with Will Smith. Amazing film, a real weepy and a true story to boot. See it.

Eastern Promise, directed by David Cronenberg with Vigor Mortensen and Vince Cassel (great French actor, scarey as hell in Derailment too). Scarey Russian Mafia in London film. Brilliant naked fight scene in a Turkish baths. Excellent film.

Casino Royal. Great Bond film. Lots of great stunts and sfx.

The Door in the Floor ( A difficult Woman) with Kim Bassinger and Jeff Bridges. Great film, great acting and a bloody good tale. Some parts very funny too. Watch it.

All this interspersed with a re-read of Theories of Modern Art by Herschel B. Chipp (onto Constructivism) plus a glass or two of Rioja and some more filming (a doc I,m working on) made for a bloody good weekend. Don,t get much better.

botan24: The Green Mile and Shawshank Redemption

Two excellent films. Seen the Green Mile a few times. Written by Stephen King. What is amazing is he wrote it on the net and, like Charles Dickens, didn,t know what was coming next from day to day. Anyway, it,s proof King is a great writer and aint always fangs, fur and scarey things that go bump in the night.

Also, watch out for The Road to Perdition, great mafia movie also with Tom Hanks.thumbs up
