Many on here seemed offended that O'Bama didn't call McCain, Senator McCain, in the first debate. Where is the outrage for McCain referring to O'Bama as "that man"?? Talk about lack of respect!! What do you think of McCain refusing to shake OBama's hand at the end of the debate? Now let's talk about respect!!

This is dumb. McCain went over and shook his hand while brokaw was doing his closing remarks and also hugged him. That is why brokaw said that they were standing in front of his teleprompter.

It seems to me this either happened or it did not.

I can't say that I saw either candidate not show respect for the other.

dunno

no hand shaking when OBama put his hand out to shake McCain's hand, instead he directed OBama to shake his wife's hand

This was directed to those who said that OBama didn't show respect to McCain for not calling him Senator during the first debate. I think it was lessd respectful to refer to OBama as "that man"

Well, I think some (on both sides) are a bit sensitive. I really didn't see any disrespect from either Obama or McCain during the 2 debates. Politics are much like the legal system, adversarial in nature and such things should be expected as part of the sparring. However, they should both be careful to temper such things lest they turn off the very people they're trying to influence. JMO

I don't think either of them were shaking hands so much as they were trying to search each others pockets for money to help pay off the 700 billion dollar fiasco. They both know we can't cover it.professor

They should fight it out like potential leaders used to do in the good old bad old days -

Obama could use his wit and cunning and dance around a bit feigning to punch aka 'float like a butterfly, sting like a bee' -

and McCain could call just up his friends in the air force to lay down some napalm!

dunno

the real question should be, where were their policies? seemed to me that they had very little to offer the american public and spent most of their time blathering on about their records, both of which are quite poor. also, there seems to be a move towards peddling the u.s public towards accepting off-shore drilling and nuclear power. mccain looked old and fidgety with a nasal whine and all the charm of a down on his luck snake oil salesman and obama seemed to be auditioning for a part in rambo 5 with his little speech killing osama bin laden

they shook hands at the beginning didn't they?

a debate is a battle of words, my problem is the lies and spins they spoke of each others voting record.

I am still an undecided,
They both misrepresented each other on national TV to all the voters of America and not get questioned or reprimanded for it... we need to ask ourselves what will they misrepresent to us once in office.

wheres the honesty factor with these guys.

name calling, lack of formal respect and innuendos are one thing, knowingly lying about the other is another.

shipoker58: How silly your statements are. I did not say that was my biggest problem with McCain. I was only referring to the people who said OBama didn't respect McCain for not calling him SENATOR in the last debate!

I do believe you are remiss in calling OBama SATAN, though.

BTW...I will not vote for either of them. I hear his "ticket" (McCain's)calling the problems facing our country is a problem caused by WASHINGTON. This is funny, as McCain has been a standard in Washington for over 20 years. And OBama hasn't the experience needed.

But I still feel that if it was disrespectful to not address McCain without the Senator title, it was also disrespectful to refer to Obama as "that man"

Yes barking !!
