Is it wrong to approach a person of the opposite sex in their place of work? (Ask out on a date, flirt, etc.) Maybe its just me but wouldnt it be unprofessional or even disrespectful? I guess thats what worries me if I were ever to atempt that situation. confused

If you are her boss, I would not.

Maybe you could ask her to lunch as co-workers often do and see how things develope...good luck to you.handshake

No... it's fine. A Russian judge recently decided,

if we didn't sexually harass each other,

we'd got extinct.

Not a co-worker or a boss. Lets just say I am a vendor to certain extent and I have many accounts. I meet lots of atractive women every day and i often wonder would I be out of line?

If you're talking about making a play for a customer, or the employee of a customer...

I would advise against it, unless you don't have a boss.

Try just breaking the ice a little bit...You don't have to hit on them right off the bat...beat around the bush a bit, and gauge from their reaction whether it would be a good idea...nothing wrong with making another friend, and its a bonus if she's hot.

It's nice to have the work place un-polluted by emotional baggage. There's enough people out there without resorting to hitting on your work mates.

Of course I don't necessarily practice what I preach.....

I think asking colleagues out on dates is the beginning of trouble. They teach us that in school. grin

People say it's just a date, but, what if you do get along, start dating, break up then bring the drama to the office (you or her). You would either quit or get sacked.....in the end. wow

I wouldn't go out with Brad Pitt if his desk was next to mine roll eyes

Statistics show that more couples meet at or through work then anywhere else... so it seem to be pretty acceptable...

When I was a construction secretary most of my lunch hours were with one vendor or another....laugh

You could be slightly flirty, but in a friendly way. Do you ever get to see her outside of her work? Just be careful; don't get yourself caught in a s*xual harrassment lawsuit. If she doesn't act interested, don't assume she's playing hard-to-get (been there, done that).
