I made a six tier wedding cake for a couple of friends a few weeks back. took me about 4 days to get the thing just right. it collapsed twice and one section ended up being hurled against a fridge door and another was stamped on after I messed up the detailing. still, it was good to try something a bit different although I don't think i'll be doing it again for a long time.

muleguy52: Sounds like the J.W's were a little slow on the uptake,there Mike.
Even i would have picked up on that phrase,having spent a few months working in a Kibbutz,back in 82.
It seemed the thing to do,back in those days. Enjoyed every minute of my time there.!

mike1937: Made a couple of Jehova's witnesses mad today as was still Sabbath

I let them go on with the standard speil on the doorstep for about 3 minutes and then said I was a Jew -

Having said *Ailchem shalom* when I first saw them, I would have thought they might have taken the hint having been *educated* to such a standard greeting by the GoT-flog-Meister who teaches the *hard sell techniques* of *cold canvassing*

laugh Way ta go Mike thumbs up rolling on the floor laughing

another way to get rid of that lot is to tell them that you have been 'disfellowshipped' - works every time as they are not allowed to mix with 'undesirables' grin

Ive just made (last 18 hrs) a right pigs ear of colouring my hair - i chose a nice sort of light brown colour, applied it then the phone rang laugh

I only went 5 mins over the time and blimey!............ its ended up almost black and i hate it and have a special night coming up on Tuesday so promptly went into panic mode and washed it about 5 times on the run - left it to dry after that cos it was getting lateish last night so this morning I went on the internet looking for solutions..... amongst which, most prominent were lemon juice, washing up liquid and even dishwasher detergent so................. grin

I first used a whole bottle of lemon juice which really stung my bloody eyes like crazy rolling on the floor laughing and left that for half an hour - at which point i discovered you're only supposed to leave it 10 mins so then I decided on the dishwasher detergent and only had the tablets so melted one of those in boiling water and made it up to about 1/4 pint with washing up liquid and promptly applied to hair - left it 5 mins and started to wash it off which took some effort as by this time, the hair was more solid than strands and I was terrified that it was melted together or something - the texture of shredded wheat comes to mind only a bit more solid so in my panic i tipped half a bottle of conditioner on which did quickly relax it - i really was having visions at that point of having to get the lot cut off and get a wig for Tuesday - so now, its almost dry and hardly any change in colour whatsoever rolling on the floor laughing and it can bloody well stay that way too grin

it is;

The Watchtower Society's practice of disfellowshipping - being ousted from the organization by the Elders - is especially damaging. The person does not have to be wicked or evil - any expression of disagreement with the Watchtower Society's doctrines is sufficient grounds for expulsion. Witnesses are required to shun the person who was thrown out, which means a total cutting-off of association with that person.

Witnesses are forbidden to speak to disfellowshipped ones, to write to them, to visit them, to have any communication or even eye contact with them. This harmful practice tears families apart. Because Witnesses are not permitted to have friends on the outside, being disfellowshipped also leaves the person without a social system. Witnesses believe that Jehovah will not hear the prayers of any who are disfellowshipped, and death at Jehovah's hand awaits them at Armageddon.
