Please name just THREE good things you hope to happen to YOU between now and that 'wonderful' season of goodwill and commercial happiness looming on the calender!

I'll do my best to try and start it off:

Hmmmmm.......... let me think!

1.) In two weeks and three days I fly out to see the woman I love for a whole week! grin

2.) I hope to hear that my son gets himself a Christmas job as a temporary postman - good physical work and you get paid for it too! grin

3.) I hope to have good news from at least one friend to know that they are well and happy and wish to share their good news with me! grin

Your turn now! conversing thumbs up

well i hope these wishes come true for you guys.

i don't wish for much - the basics :
health and
happiness to all the people i care about.

for the 3rd wish,
a change for the better in the world financials would make probably EVERYBODY happier.

Congrats to you and virgo for both having at least three things to look forward to! thumbs up

A few hours on I STILL feel good - ~sniffle~ ~sniffle~

I think I have ONE slightly dodgy investment (out of 29); keeping my fingers crossed that:

1.) It pulls through ok

2.) It turns out to be the only dodgy one

3.) I live long enough to convert them all into wine and live happily for a few months/years/whatever!

laugh

(Thank God my dad invested in boring old bonds, and not the stock market....... I invested in the stock market in the late '80s and I lost almost every penny! sigh )

This is the best news in a long time.

I am so pleased to read this...

They will need it as much as you, those two little ones especially.

Sounds like it is all coming together for you.

Lagoona22: Bloody good advice....drinking plonk as we speak...

I had a glass with lunch, but as it is Friday, after cleaning I will have another, I shipped some over from the UK, so I will crash open a bottle to have with dinner.

I think I am going to go to Munich tomorrow, on the train and have a wander, sit in coffee shops and read papers and enjoy it...

First class train ticket, relax have breakfast in the buffet car and then wander around in my birkenstocks...

With my camera...

rusty_knight: Do I sound worried?

I'm very pleased - one out of 29 is nothing to lose sleep over!

If you've read my posts you'll realise I can only go out for 1.5 hours twice per day............ but that's a lot more than for some people I'm sure.

I'm looking forward to my trip to Germany - and having six holidays a year, averaging 10 days at a time, is also something to look forward to...... and I am delighted things are going well for my son at present.

I don't normally buy wine by the bottle - if you read smoky's post you'll realise I normally have a case of wine in the boot of the car .....once the case is full of empty bottles I buy another case - tomorrow is my trip to 'the bottle shop' and I'm very, very excited!!!!!!!!!!!

Well forgive me, I was trying to be helpful...

Yes you do write as though you are worried...

I buy wine from a supplier, I hate lugging into the car and up the stairs. I prefer a nice neat, delivery.

Why can you only go out for 1.5 hours twice a day? Because of the flu? Get yourself wrapped up, take a walk and have some fresh air.

I am pleased you are looking forward to your trips and are able to have six holidays a year, as for reading posts, I read posts that are in the threads I post in. I read smoky's post, that in no way indicated that you never by wine the bottle...

Geez, stop being on the defence will yas...

I was being nice.

I'm defensive.

I look after my mother. She is paralysed; it's not nice to leave a paralysed person on their own in a villa - I can go out when the carers come in to look after her - wash her, change her etc......

I get somebody to put the case of wine in the car for me. I only drink one bottle at a time; I find I have the strength to carry one bottle up at a time.

It's nice of you to say you're pleased that I am looking forward to my six trips a year. I got on very well with my father; I could leave my mother with my father and get out while he was alive. I wish I got on better with my mother, but I don't. She needs visitors - I cannot provide the warm, caring company that she would like to have. A few people visit my mother and they have a good chat. I can't have a nice chat with her - I find her very irritating and I lack the patience I know I should have.

I feel sorry for her at times; it can't be fun being in her position - totally compus mentis but unable to do anything for herself. When Monika and I went on the cruise, my son stayed for a few days then oversaw her being taken by ambulance to a nice hotel for six nights. She had plenty of visitors and the staff were very attentive but she was pleased to get home.

This time I am only going away for a week - I might get a very nice policewoman to stay in the villa with my mother.... the young lady seems to have plenty of initiative, and says she can do her police shifts from the villa with the aid of a mobile 'phone!

I can imagine:

'Sorry, Joyce - just got to go out for a few minutes - I have to go and investigate a murder!' (she'll get a neighbour in to cover if called away in an emergency).

We'll see - if it doesn't work out my mother can always go back to the hotel where she is welcome (i.e. she wasn't over-demanding on her first visit.......... naturally I had the carers go to the hotel [as normal] so the hotel wasn't expected to do more than could be reasonably expected of them).
