If we don't use our freedom to fight for our freedom, we will lose our freedom.

If that is a true statement, why do we all wait for someone else to do the job we should ourselves, be doing? Why do we sit on our hands and let someone else do all the work and then expect to reap all the benefits for doing nothing?

Who's freedom will you be taking away while you are "fighting" to keep your freedom?
And no I am not pointing my finger in any particular direction because to me there seems to be idiots in all nations? And they generally apear to be the discustingly rich too! is there a pattern forming?confused
Did we learn nothing from the fall of the roman empire and all other similar events before and since?

wixomwizard: You sure could have fooled me Anna, and I am not passing judgement on anyone. I am just as guilty as the next person. But I still think we are content to pass onto someone else, things we should be more involved with ourself. Sorry if I offended your tender sensibilities.

I wasn't trying to fool anyone wix. I just didn't like the way you worded one of your sentences. I call things like I see them. You were rude plain and simple.

How would you feel if I said what you said to you. I'm pretty sure you wouldn't appreciate it would you.

We are losing our freedoms within. A hard working man is locked in his own home because of crime, pay insurance because of crime, locks his cars, carries a gun or device, we are losing our freedoms because of those who choose to live outside the laws and the bleeding hearts that don't won't them punished. What about the good people who work hard and have their ID stolen, money stolen.....by these poor criminals we need to give extra rights too. A law without punishment is no law at all. And those who are not in fear of the set punishments need harder punishments......what if a guy does not care if he dies....do you think he will stop at anything......no!......We have lost much of our freedom have we not.

venere08: You have no idea how much we wish we could vote in the upcoming U.S. elections, here in Australia!!!

You're such an apathetic bunch over there! (not all, of-course )

And we're glad you don't. However, if you get in touch w/ACORN...they may send you a ballot. rolling on the floor laughing

You are right, there is a lot of apathy here in the US, but it is the global apathy this thread is addressing. All of us should be more aware of things and willing to do our part. Again, I include myself!

That old saying, 'If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem,' comes to mind.

What global apathy, wixom. Please elaborate.

Mind you, I'm not sure I like the way you so readily dismiss the fact that there is such a magnitude of apathy on your home front on the very eve of your elections?dunno dunno

What percentage of Americans actually vote? I doubt nthat it is even 50%, but would love to hear from you, please.help

there are rules that are supossed to be fallowed...believe it or not, there are alot of people who move from time to time...and when you move at certain times...you are without a precenct to vote from...the percentage of ''non-voters'' is misrepresented as all apathetic...there are rules that must be fallowed, or you wind up with mass confussion...ie, ACORN
