Conrad73: Blame the ones that are to blame. Then think back to 1977 and who signed a certain Bill.
ATLAS IS SHRUGGING
Conrad, blame does not go there...oh gosh. The CRA law was a good idea to offer credit and housing to middle class and lower class level minorities (responsible) who were historically discriminated against. The law does not force or require institutions to make high risk loans that may bring losses to the institution. The law was very clear that an institution's CRA activities should be undertaken in a safe and sound manner.
Here you go Conrad Here is a link to get you up to speed that offers sound insight. And stop shrugging...things will be fine.

When I was in University she was popular with a certain kind of student....along with Herman Hesse's Siddharta and the Communist manifesto......but students read books like those...and then grow up!
I didn't like Ayn Rand....I thought she had fascist leanings and that she really didnt like people.
StressFree: This whole thing could have been avoided if Obama's name was not compared to a terrorist, and making a George Zimmer guarantee about an attempted assassination by someone on Obama does raise the question of how much have we evolved with racial issues since the turbulent 60's. It's cool to speak your mind, but be ready to take it if you wanna dish it!
With that said, I promise never to refer to McCain as McSame.
I've been looking for an article I read yesterday where on 20 major points Obama agreed with "W". The article, for all practical purposes, cited the statements. If I can find it, I'll make it a thread.
Fallingman: I think you need to read a second book! ....preferably by someone who likes people!
But he is extremely Pissed off.
Too many Orren Boyle's and Fred Kinnan's in this world today.
I might applaud Barrack Obama,if he gets the Patriot Act repealed. But that is exactly the Prize BOTH Sides are after! Imagine what a fantastic Club it will make! Beat the BeJesus and Worse out of your Enemies, and do it absotively and posilutely legally.
Skybow: Obama has made many statements regarding Acorn, Ayers and everyone. That he isn't being believed despite the difficulty of disproving his statements doesn't mean they aren't true.
The very difficulty in disproving them, although it isn't a final call, would lead me to believe that accusations don't have much substance and are a political ploy to discredit him. The Obama campaign doesn't have the power to suppress all the information the Rep want to get on him. There is always a trail to follow.
His so called Muslim background has been disproved. It was another just another shameful political ploy. Linking him to terrorism and Islam isn't playing a race card? Not correcting people who are shouting kill him and terrorist isn't playing a race/hate/fear card?
That was a deliberate attempt by the McCain campaign to play a race card Wish and you can see how well it worked. There were a couple of people it worked on right here speaking today. There are thousands more it worked on too.
On a brighter note have a good appt today, talk later.
Oh hell now, I've heard Rosie O'Donnell and some other far left wackos say worse things about Bush, Cheney, McCain and virtually anyone who disagrees with her or the other wack jobs. Where's the outrage?
Nobel winner Krugman says global recession likely(China Daily) Updated: 2008-10-15 07:47 Comments() PrintMailThe world is likely headed for a deep recession despite the European-led plan to bail out banks hit by the credit meltdown, the US economist who won the 2008 Nobel prize for economics said on Monday.
Paul Krugman, an economics professor at Princeton University and columnist for The New York Times, said the plan to recapitalize banks has the potential to heal financial institutions, unlike the US-led plan to buy bad debt that preceded it.
The US Treasury Department unveiled yesterday a $250 billion plan to purchase equity stakes in financial institutions along with a three-year guarantee of bank-to-bank lending, according to a financial policy source familiar with the plan.
Krugman warned that the crisis has already inflicted serious damage on the world economy.
"There is a tremendous amount of downward momentum built into the real economy from this crisis," he said. "Even if we unlock the credit markets, we probably still have a nasty recession ahead of us."

The majority of Americans thing the Nobel "Peace" Prize is a joke. Always pick some left leaning slob that the majority of Americans can't stand; ie....Algore....for example. I've seen him spew his crap on Hardball...

When you say the majority of Americans I assume you mean the majority of Republican leaning anti-liberal red truck drivers who don't like prizes where foreign guys get to vote?

StressFree: I think Stone does get pretty close to the flame if you will. Supposedly, his movie is not intended to make W. look like a bad guy.
Shall we reopen the Kennedy case?
I saw the Kennedy movie. The logic he used about the bullet entry was excessively flawed. There was a documentary on it. Stone is a tad nutty, (JMO) But, he knows how to market a movie....

You do realize that liberals have a higher education on the average than any other group right?
