JUST A BIKER

I saw you hug your purse closer to you in the grocery store line. But you didn't see me put an extra $10.00 in the collection plate last Sunday.

I saw you pull your child closer when we passed each other on the sidewalk. But you didn't see me playing Santa at the local Mall.

I saw you change your mind about going into the restaurant when you saw my bike parked out front. But you didn't see me attending a meeting to raise more money for the hurricane relief, or organizing a Poker Run for Cancer.

I saw you roll up your window and shake your head when I rode by. But you didn't see me riding behind you when you flicked your cigarette butt out the car window.

I saw you frown at me when I smiled at your children. But you didn't see me, when I took time off from work to run toys to the homeless.

I saw you stare at my long hair. But you didn't see me and my friends cut ten inches off for Locks of Love.

I saw you roll your eyes at our leather jackets and gloves. But you didn't see me and my brothers donate our old ones to the homeless shelter for those that had none.

I saw you look in fright at my tattoos. But you didn't see me cry as my children where born or have their name written over and in my heart. For I love them more then life itself.

I saw you change lanes while rushing off to go somewhere. But you didn't see me going home to be with my family after work.

I saw you complain about how loud and noisy our bikes can be. But you didn't see me when you were changing the CD and drifted into my lane.

I saw you yelling at your kids in the car. But you didn't see me pat my child's hands knowing she was safe behind me.

I saw you reading the newspaper or map as you drove down the road. But you didn't see me squeeze my wife's leg when she told me she loved me and was going to have my child. Nor did you see the tear of joy in my eye at the news.

I saw you race down the road in the rain. But you didn't see me get soaked to the skin so my son could have the car to go on his date.

I saw you run the yellow light just to save a few minutes of time. But you didn't see me trying to turn right.

I saw you cut me off because you needed to be in the lane I was in. But you didn't see me leave the road.

I saw you, waiting impatiently for my friends to pass. But you didn't see me. I wasn't there.

I saw you go home to your family. But you didn't see me. Because I died that day you cut me off.

I was just a biker. A person with a job, children & loved ones. A person with friends and a family. We are not hoods, nor scooter trash, but Doctors, Lawyers, Brothers, Sisters, Wives, Husbands, Sons, Daughters, White Collar, and Blue Collar workers. Still one of God's Children, but you didn't see me.

Repost this around in hopes that people will understand the biker community.

If you don't repost this, it sucks to be you. I hope you never lose someone that rides.

EVEN IF YOU DON'T LIKE US, RESPECT OUR RIGHTS TO RIDE WHAT WE CHOOSE AND TAKE A FEW EXTRA SECONDS TO BE SURE WE ARE NOT IN 'YOUR' WAY

bikers would get more sympathy if they respected driving laws. Seldom do I see a biker obey the speed limit. Bikers almost always weave in and out of traffic. Bikers are noise pollutants.

I want to scream everytime I see the bumper sticker.."Bikers have rights too" Yeah, they have the right to obey the law the same as eeveryone else!! Many have no respect for the people that they are demanding respect from!! JMO, of course

We love the Harley's here on the Grand Strand!!

But it looks like the bikers will find someplace else to go for their rallies. Seems the city counsel are passing laws to make it almost impossible for the bikers to come back here. I hear all bike ralliers are going to boycott us....I don't blame them a bit.

I wonder how many million we dropped during bike week to MB and NMB? I do know my group alone spent over a grand for dinner at the Aussie's joint, and that was just ONE meal. We were there 8 days....dunno

The Myrtle Beach City Counsel are the idiots who are doing this.

Multi millions will be lost to the businesses and the surrounding cities.

You had dinner at Greg Norman's. I live about 3 miles from there accross the Intercoastal Waterway. Norman's might be the most expensive restaurant here...

I think Throughbred's runs a close second then. That bill was $800.00 and there was 2 less in the party..

Beautiful. I've ridden "b*tch" many times, with one of my ex-husbands and many ex-boyfriends...as well as many friends. I know many bikers, and am always saddened and upset when I see people react this way...or, not see the bikers on the road. I always take the extra time to look for them, all year round (yes, I know some who ride all year, even here).

Bless you for posting this, HJ. handshake

Causing the death of another person is very tramatic, and often destroys both lives,

choosing to ride a motorcycle on the road increases the odds of someone experiencing this.

If you choose to play big boy games, and enter the roadway without a cage to protect your a**

that's your choice and your responsibility, stop shifting the blame to other people.

You knew the risks... deal with it, or drive a car.

We vets have a name for those types Ship, they are called Organ Donors. Not all of us ride that way, although since we are a very small minority, one idiot and we're all idiots, it would appear.

If someone is driving a car recklessly, are all car drivers idiots? handshake

I wasn't implying that all bikers are bad drivers. But it seems that here in Tampa Bay, we seem to have an over abundance of zig zaggers!! Another astute observation is that most of the Harley riders, drive resposibly! It's those Suziki and weird looking bikes whose riders are questionable!!handshake

Understood, and point taken. tip hat Apologies if I seemed a tad defensive. Lord knows, we have quite a number of "those" types around here as well. handshake
