zeelanderer: I have it sorta figured out.... here in Kentucky, people say they are Democrats for a couple reasons.... 1) because their Daddy was.... 2) It is the only way to get a government job or contract. It's all politics down here.

I have seen exactly the same happen in my country, not that I doubted you for a sec but I googled it and I think you have thrown some light on it.
I did see that Bush had margins of 15% and 19% in the previous elections. I guess that that means that what people "say" and do is quite different! make sense giving what you say.
zeelanderer: Unfortunately, most college kids vote in primaries, but not in the general election. This tends to be a real let down for the Democratic party. If they did vote, there would never be another Republican in office.

I've heard that the kids tend not to vote, the democrats have certainly been courting them this year tho.
I only use my cell phone also, i'm 38. I and others that have embrased technology could tilt the vote one way or the other.
Any poll is subject to a lot of variables. The big problem is how the question(s) is/are worded. Sometimes I get asked a question that is too open ended I cannot in all honesty give a truthful answer. When one looks at the the CNN, ABC, MSNBC, NBC and FOX poll results you can see there is a lot of room for error or pollster bias in the questions asked ... they all can't be right.
lorax111: My poll is curently reflecting: Mcain............24% Obama.........59% other............17%
It's quite a small percent of the voters, and an unexpectedly hi rate of 'other' voters,,,,,,,,perhaps micky mouse will finialy get elected this year. Dennis
Conrad73: That makes the Poll extremely accurate, hmmm?
There has been fifty votes, how could you posibily concider this less than accurate?
Conrad this is simply a poll that i posted here, did you vote? the chance of accuracy overall is same as the chance of me winning the election, it could happen but if the world is screwed up enough then you don't want me driving.
Confirmation bias...first and foremost. I used to conduct these surveys, and I'll tell you right now, the way they're written is to get the answer the sponsors of the poll want, and not anything close to the truth...
