And congress is going to sit around and dole out the money as they see fit.... probably often where the best votes are.Do you want you hospitals to be at the whim of Congress?

The other problem is that there is absolutely no evidence that anyone has actually worked the numbers in terms of what it would actually cost to provide health care for everyone. Once people THINK its "free" they will start turning up in emergency rooms for every little thing and the system will be completely overloaded.
It's frighteningly irresponsible to embark on this plan without TONS of research.
Ever think about what is going to happen if they dismantle the existing system... convert to the government plan... and then find it doesn't work????
Then nobody will have any health care insurance and might be "cash only" for a few years...

Between now and January you will see a huge outflux of money to other countries where it's safe from taxes. I tend to think that's some of the reason for the stockmarket's drop. The market is always looking ahead, not behind.
