kidatheart: What part of AB?

Honestly, I used to like it here, but not for the last dozen years or so. Pretty much the entire time I've done reno's and construction for a living. I do a lot of indoor stuff in the winter, but packing stuff through 3 or 4 foot drifts just to get inside sucks. That and I feel the cold a lot more than I used to.

Moving off the praries and heading to southern BC! Way warmer and shorter winters.

Jasper. Where are you in AB? I have lots of friends in southern BC, they love it! I'm sure you will, too.

My brother lived in Jasper for a few years on Patricia, next door to the crazy house.laugh

I've been all over Alberta from Edmonton, Calgary, Grand Prarie, Peace River, Cadomin a few acerages and a farm north of Edmonton and now Lamont of all places for the last almost 5 years.

Moving to Fruitvale, near Trail. Lots of scenery and wat nicer than Alberta.dancing

rwantin: I recall that depressed feeling, but near-perfect weather all the time can be, over time, rather oppressive, and least in my view. I do miss the seasons back in Michigan.

It is one of the reason that I left S.California where I lived for 11 years. I missed the four seasons.
Lived in Costa Mesa also. I now live in a good place the winters not too long. applause

3/4 of the way down the second block of houses north of the fire station, just before the church on the corner. There was a giant log house right across the street.

His name is Steve, he's an RN, worked at the Senton (sp?) hospital, married and had a daughter at that time, now has three boys as well. It was about 6 years ago that he moved from there to Hawaii.

Likely know a few people in common, I had a few friends that lived and worked there as well. It's a small community.

Since it does get darker earlier it can be a bit more depressing.

<== grew up in San Diego.

I prefer cooler weather to hot. And yes, I know, I'm in Redding where it gets to be over 100 degrees in the summer.

If I could've gotten a job on the coast...I'd be estatic 365 days a year...lol

I love it when it rains...and we've had some pretty good thunderstorms (give me goosebumps). I just need a woodstove insert in the fireplace to make it perfect (oh yeah...and a guy to share it with).

I find that I'm wanting to be more active when it's cooler. During the summer, if I'm going to do anything active, it has to be done in the early morning & finished by 10am. Maybe if I knew someone with a boat & could spend time out on the lake it might be different.

Rain, fog, drizzly weather....doesn't depress me in the least.
