Everyone here is looking for the same thing______ Love (49)
In my last attempt at love, the things my partner did not like about me included:
Sleeping (I went to bed too early)
Showering (I prefer a morning shower, he prefers nighttime)
Driving (he would ask me to drive and then backseat drive the entire time)
Personal Hygiene choices (I like a dab of perfume, he wanted to be able to smell me coming 10 mins before I got there.)
Parenting skills (He thought I should order my son to live by my standards-My son is 27. I felt he was old enough to live by his own standards.)
I could go on but I won't bore you. At some point I realized, I was changing "me" little by little for someone else.
So one day I asked him, "Is there anything about me that you DO like?" His reply was after 1 second, "Your cute"!
So I believe Dan is right, if you fall in love with someone why try and change them?

Exactly...not to mention how petty those things are..I mean that to me says he wanted to control you...which has nothing to do with love....Look at those things in comparison to what is really means to love your partner...I guess he was a "I will love you" as soon as you are perfect and I have you the way I want you type of guy!!!!

I would give up the search thats about it. If you meet someone and you truely fall in love why would anything have to be given up? Wont change just happen normally at it's own pace as the relationship grows?
I would never ask anyone to give something up and I would expect them not to ask me too either
