HJFinAZ: There is no right, there is no wrong, there just IS ...
Absolutely. Each decade of being has its own benefits and drawbacks. I think everyone needs to enjoy the journey regardless of where they are in it. I hope it helps the younger ones on here to know that life doesn't end at 30...we see certain birthdays as we approach them as being "the end" of our youth and beauty...and yet, they're really just milemarkers along the way.
I don't see this as a right or wrong thread, i however think that this is a generalisation, like any other. Should we all agree because it's a positive one? No, i won't agree.
I'm 26, with a lot to learn, but happy to be who i am, with what i am doing, and don't believe for a second, that any two people ( 40 year olds,) have had similar experiences. There are some who have had kids, some haven't, others have dated throughout their lives, others haven't. Some have grown with their experiences, others have given up. There are teenagers who have been through more experiences, than some 50 year olds. There are mistakes 40 year olds made at my age, i haven't, like mistakes i have made, another 26yr old won't.

I retired at 57, it took about 3 years to regain my youth. I drove race cars for years, retired from driving at 49 as I "thought" I could no longer "compete" with the younger generation.
Last Saturday night while at the track, I bought another race car. I have a young man in his 20's that is a very promising driver, a natural. Next season, his father & I will pass on our combined years of experience to Jimmy. Who knows how far this kid may go?
I never did win that national championship, highest I got was #8 in the nation. Jimmy may win that national championship title for his dad & I..
It truly is the journey and not the destination.. We all know the final destination..

I speak for myself, of course. If what i say makes me unwise, then so be it.
Look at Lus being serious. You really think it´s a positive generalisation?

Well the thing is...nobody said it didn't and we are all different and can only speak from our own experiences....

My dear (young) lady, there are no "mistakes" in life. Only chances to learn and to grow. You are living your life, that is a good thing..

No, Luscious...what you said was very wise. And you're right...none of us have the same experiences. You should be happy with who you are, and I'm glad that you are. I was at that age too...and I'm happy with who I am now. And with how wise you are at 26, I can honestly say I think you'll be even wiser as time goes by.
Yes, it is a generalization...but just because something is generally true doesn't make it universally true. There are some very wise people in their 20's on this site who post in the forums. Just be thankful you have such wisdom at a younger age than most.
And yes, I was very wise at a young age too...but still managed to make mistakes. We all do. And I learned more and grew wiser.

Moema: Hi Rasgumby? I do happen to be a teacher, but I actually meant under 30. Under 20 do not appeal to me (and vice-versa). Thanks for correcting me!
