blueriver30: Which tells most about a person the picture or the profile?

I think the picture definitely says the first 'Hi!'. I don't believe in judging a book by it's cover, but you can get a bit of a feeling about a person with how they take care of themselves.

More importantly though, is the profile. To read what someone has written about themselves, is the best way to understand what they are like.

Neither...because both can be made to suit...

however....

one can seldom hide "who" they really are when you read their responses to various topics on the forums!professor

It has been my experience that with every year that passes, what may have been important to me...no longer is....and things that didn't seem that important, suddenly became very much so....

So the qualities that i looked for in a person changed as the stages in my life changed...

What is important to me at this age is his outlook on life, how he has handled his past experiences and what he walked away from them learning...and those things i will only know when we "converse"...and where else would i find his opinions on various subjects?...

blueriver30: Which tells most about a person the picture or the profile?

Definitely the profile. The picture only shows what the person looks like and gives almost immediate insight into whether or not that person is within your physical ballpark and, based on an equal scale with all other profiles, is worthy of a more detailed look.

The profile on the other hand gives a brief window into what the other person finds most important to show the world at that moment in time which might capture a heart. Is it shyness, confidence, submissiveness, dominance? Maybe just being plain fun and lighthearted or, slathered it in perky hobbies. There is only so much space so, to me, it is important as it provides a clue and, an opportunity to discuss anything that has been written to gain further insight into the soul of the author.

The profile tells alot about the individual.
The picture on the other hand only appeals to a select few
,and for all intents and purposes may not be a true reflection of the person in the profile.
Beauty as they say, is in the eye of the beholder.
