in the celestial teapot ????

"If I were to suggest that between the Earth and Mars there is a china teapot revolving about the sun in an elliptical orbit, nobody would be able to disprove my assertion provided I were careful to add that the teapot is too small to be revealed even by our most powerful telescopes. But if I were to go on to say that, since my assertion cannot be disproved, it is intolerable presumption on the part of human reason to doubt it, I should rightly be thought to be talking nonsense. If, however, the existence of such a teapot were affirmed in ancient books, taught as the sacred truth every Sunday, and instilled into the minds of children at school, hesitation to believe in its existence would become a mark of eccentricity and entitle the doubter to the attentions of the psychiatrist in an enlightened age or of the Inquisitor in an earlier time."

Very good point Mr. Russell had, Crotty P...very good point.

Still doesn't stop me from believing what I believe and feel to be true...but it's a good point.

phoenix:
The last time i buttered a croissant was this morning..When was yours?

I don’t eat croissant anymore they are bad for you

phoenix: As for me having a few friends in the vatican it's true..in a previous thread/post I said that i was an alterboy in Belfast from the age of 7 until I was 20. So I got to see 'back stage'. And I kown several priests and bishops, who don't call me by my 'christian name' but by my nickname. Two of the priests are now in the vatican studying..So on that case trust me you are on a looser..I can and sometimes do phone my old school friend in the vatican (he's a priest)...

I fail to see how I can be on a loser when I did not take a stance on it
(by the way Ben Dover is not a nickname it's an instruction tongue)

phoenix: And on your last quote about being derogatory..well it's a case of the kettle calling the pot black.I am just being honest there is a difference, I unlike you do not set out to be purposely derogatory

(in ref. to your opinions on the christian church, or islam....)

Tut tut you should know at this stage that I view all religions as equally bunk
