RillyNiceGuy: Tonight there was a disagreement between me and another person. I made a joke that this person disliked. This person defended against the joke on the behalf of gays. The joke I do not consider an insult to gays...if so...it was very mild using the word fruit. This person proceeded to say how he/she found fault with this in a rude, vulgar and nasty way.
This person then to insult me called me gay (I am not). Using gayness as an insult to me and to shame me in the eyes of others calling me Queenie and one of the girls (and other vulgar names).
I made a joke not intending to insult the gays ways or person. But this person clearly used gayness as an insult to a straight person to shame him.

Obviously, the one who was more offensive toward homosexuals was the other who used it as an insult.
I have never seen you make a joke that was meant to be mean. And yes, you have a wonderful sense of humor.
I laugh at Irish jokes, Pagan jokes, whatever....many blondes laugh at blonde jokes. Sheesh...I'd tell someone like that to get a sense of humor, or learn to ignore things that offend you if meant as a joke. Got a problem? Take it out on somebody else...vent to a RL friend.

You know, I have tons of gay friends. Their jokes make yours look virginal!
I've discovered the world of the politically correct gay joke was NOT invented by a gay man or lesbian woman...
rather a very insecure "straight".
Seriously, they must have been turning that cheek for so long... wait... that comment can only lead to a bad joke.
You know, it doesn't matter who your spoofing... gays, racial groups, certain jobs, hair colours...
once you make it into an issue, you've exaggerated the core problem. It's a bit like feeding the trolls in the forums. The negative attention paid to such a subject does it more harm than good.
We all know US government jokes... Clinton & the cigar, Bush and his long list of screw ups, or any of the candidates of this election. Funny how THOSE don't turn into a big fat street brawl.
