sweetowen: The reason I took my maiden name back after my divorce was two-fold.
First, his (& my daughter's) last name was so long, I hated signing it on things! I still pity my daughter, who often said she wished I'd changed her name too... but I'm sure he would've fought that.
Secondly, he didn't exactly have a great reputation in the area. I didn't want to be associated with that. Yes, I married him... chalk it up to being young & naive.
My son took my name when he reached 18 and both my daughters have said that they want to as well.
