Hi everyone being new to this world, just wondering why so many people don't want to put their pictures with profile,is it that their shy,or don't want their friends or family or us to see them.Yes it's not easy to put yourself out there I know that,It took me awhile to get the nerve up too. And to me a smile is worth a 1000 words,I know I'm not the best looking guy around but I am what I am.

Some people do know know how to put a photo in their profile, others might not have one, because they do not want friends, co workers, relatives..... or spouses to know they are on there. :-)

Some people just don't want to be seen.dunno

I agree, and this is just a thought, maybe they hope people will get to know them for who they are and not for what they look like.

I agree with that, but when I see a blank I wonder what they are trying to hide. I have talked with several men who don't fit the stereotypical 'hunk' category, because I liked talking to them. If someone is going to like you for who you are, you don't need to hide your picture in the first place. I like to know who I'm talking to, physical attraction is just about as important as the emotional connection. So to all the blank pics out there, show us who you are! love wave dancing yay

I tend to disagree with what you said....

truly, it's the photo that attracts me before I even think of sending an email....

yes, no doubt, talking and getting to know one another is the first step of starting some sort of "relationship" but no picture? no communication.....

but then, on the flip side, who's to say that this person is even THEM in the photo???? at least we HOPE it is!

I think that persons on this site, or any for that matter, CHOOSE to not post their picture..... you do NOT have to be a rocket scientist to figure out how to upload a pic and even at that, there is a detailed description of "how to"...and you can even MAIL in a photo on some sites......

There are also FRIENDS that this person may have who would be more than happy to help them....I'm sure of that

I think they ARE hiding from something or someone.....

JMO

cheers

I have no idea of why they won't and, cold as it may seem, it's not my problem. My problem is to find a person who is compatable both spiritually/emotionally and physically. A good profile and a picture is necessary for this so, lacking one or the other means they get passed by without even a second glance.teddybear

I agree completely! ( Also, at least if someone has a picture chances are better that they are a REAL person... not a bot or someone out to annoy others....tongue )

Personally I have my own reasons for not showing my picture, if I start communicating with some one I will be happy to share a photo or 2. For those of you who believe that physical attraction or "chemistry" is the main appeal, I will leave you with this thought....in 20 or 30 years, you may be old and gray, withered and wrinkled, but if we can still talk to one another, and if I can still make her laugh, that is what sharing your life is all about.

Hello! Another reason might be the fact that some of us are in professions that require us to deal with people with mental illness, issues with addictions (including the criminal behaviour that goes along with addictions), stalkers, p*dophile, and the like. There are counsellors, social workers, treatment centre workers, etc. on here... we need to be safe too :)

Yeah, I've got a big curvy butt and personally, I'm proud of it hee hee I'm not hiding, I'm just being safe for the sake of myself and my kids!

MychelleSome people have no further interest after receiving
said photo they request.

That's too bad but the earlier you find out you are not a physical match the better.

MychelleWhile others quite Frankly point to CS rules below that you may be a scammer if you cant post your pic on here.

I think that you are referring to how many scammers feign inability to post a picture as on some sites they have to wait a day or two for them to be approved and by that time, they will have had their accounts canceled. So, they feign the technology gap for their not having a photo.

MychelleI am as rea as real can be.

Some photos on here are airbrushed and plain fake. I dont have time to annoy people I have always got more important things to do with my quality time.

That's why it is always good to have three or four non professional photos and, update them as the seasons change. In any case, scammers are usually weeded out after a post or two due to bad English, ridiculously over done emotional posts and an obvious culture gap. One sure way to test is to ask them to tell you something that happened recently to them that they found funny. Humor is a huge cultural thing that is difficult for a stranger to imitate.
