Angel_Diva: prob Trish,

i find it so sad that todays youth have no respect for the war dead...

makes me sound so old but i do think we should push it for schools to remember and teach kids what war does to people. still we live in uncertain times

Dad used to take us to the ceremony every year and I think I just grew up thinking how horrific it all is - I agree, kids should know - I was listening to a local guy on the radio this week who never attends the ceremonies and he said the same thing my Dad used to whenever I asked what it was really like in the thick of the fighting, the guy n Dad both said that they didnt want to remember the horrors and that nobody should have to ever experience those things - a bit of a catch 22 really......

Its so sad to my mind that so little has been learned, we have this service every year and each time more and more names are added to the list of those who have died in action.

When oh when will the governments of this world realise enough is enough

Mine was WW2 but one of my uncles fought in WW1 and even though i saw him every day, I never actually knew him, he never got over his shell shock and it sort of morphed into alzheimers.......

I could be wrong but I think I heard on sunday that there were something like 37,000 bodies never found - it mustve been a hell of a nightmare to be in the middle of all that agony...........

Politicians argue and the people have to pay the price.......... let them lay their lives down first - never mind the propaganda stunts like when prince Harry 'wanted' to be on the front lines last yr......
