Letting a child be disruptive through a Rememberence Day Church Service (8)
I started taking my 2 girls when they were able to sit quietly, and if they couldn't sit I took them home. 
After reading your post here...i decided to try a thread on the international forum based on the same thing, just for a "multicultural" view on this....

blueriver30: Today I attended a Rememberance Day Church service. A child of 2 years disrupted the service by making so much noise with the toy he was playing with. He was talking loud as well as crying and screaming when his mother picked him up to set him on her lap. This went on until the last 10 minutes of the service when she finally took him home. What bothered me besides the veterns couldn't here the service was the fact she just sit and smiled at the child.

How Ironic that you bring this subect up because a man wrote the same thing to our local newspaper. He was disgusted by people laughing and chatting and children running around while the wreaths were being laid. I am with him on that point and he was standing next to a Veteran and noticed the Veteran had one eye on the ervice and one eye on a child playing and laughing so the man asked the Vet if he was annoyed as he was about the disruption an the Vet said "NO, Not at all, that is what we fought for,- to see the happiness and to bring peace to our Country". This is another thought to ponder. Personally , it would drive me crazier than I am. Great thread.Have you ever let your child be disruptive or experienced this

I'm sure if asked at our service the Vets would answer the same because they do love the children.

Sad note is, it's not just kids that can be "disrespectful" during cermonies such as Rememberance Cermonies. Here in Surrey B.C. during the Rememberance cermonies at the Surrey Legion, even during the 2 minutes of silence the B.C. Lions continued practicing and had their music FULL BLAST... don't we have a team to be proud of, huh ?

Yes it is...because children learn by example. And as I was saying to Blue on the thread of the same nature in the international forums the answers there is one of the reason we are raising an "unruly" generation of children...
