I just got a call about 20 minutes ago. It was one of my friends calling to tell me that a very dear male friend of mine had passed away on Tuesday from a massive heart attack! This guy was probably not even in his 40s yet.

I'm just sitting here, numb. The viewing's tomorrow & the funeral's on Saturday.

Ah, well these things do happen, as i nearly died earlier this year.....out of the blue.

There are two ways to look at this......and the better of the two is to remember your friend with a smile on his face and when he was at his happiest, and a reminder that life is short,,,,,and you never know whats around the corner.

Thank you all. You're so kind! I'm going to see if I can get off of work early tomorrow to go to the viewing. I'm not sure if I should go to the funeral. Yes, I was his friend... & for a brief period, somewhat more. But that never worked out & we just remained friends. I've never met his family. Do you think I should still go to the funeral?

Sorry to hear about your losssad flower

As for the funeral, attend if you feel comfortable and want to, if not, then why don't you spend the day enjoying the things that he would enjoy and thinking of his memory and what he meant to you---to commemorate his life in a different sort of way...bouquet
