crazzzymolly: I have noticed quite a few guys put in their requirements no Baggage, I assume baggage means from your past life this statement has me perplexed. Does it mean don"t tell me about your past if it wasn't all fun and joyous occasions and nothing bad sad or unhappy has happened to you? Don't think anyone would be here on this site if that was the case. Don't want you if your a psychotic stalker,( fair enough) just don't tell me about the not so perfect past I am not interested, I am looking for someone that is perfect in every way and has lived in fantastic land all their life. Please help me understand this short statement NO BABBAGE
I think 'no baggage' means 'dont bring your hassles with u' A new relationship doesnt need hassles of someone elses??
I never say no baggage but listen very carefully (most times) to what the say if they say really nasty things about there ex within the first half dozen emails I end it. Kids dont worry me cause i have my own and I cant have more. My main thing is id prefer that their last relationship is over completely, in the sense that they are not in court for settlements. If they are still friends with them no probs just dont drag me into your fights please.

baggage refers to your past or your ex's. some ladies or men carry their ex into the relationship making it an extra baggage or burden on the new relationship.
JASON656: We all carry baggage from past relationships, usually so we can learn from it and not repeat the same mistakes but memories are with us forever.
The key is to make better memories which will over time forge its place over not so good memories. Be positive.

psuedonym: remember i'm a sole parent and have had sole custody for 0ver 10 years, whether you ladies accept it or not, there are women (and men) that struggle with jealousy. example, one lady i was dating covered up her jealousy well for about 8 weeks. then the whole frienship/relationship dissolved, when she asked me to have my ex take back custody, and when i asked if she was going to do the same with her kids , she went berserk. was ok for her to have kids, but mine reminded her of the fact i'd had prior relationships
To me .. everyone has baggage. It can be due to past relationships, it can be due to experiences growing up, past health issues, traumas, family the list goes on.
All that baggage is what has made us the people we are today, it has shaped our lives, the way we react to things, the way we view adversity, the way we face life, how we treat others and how we expect to be treated.
If someone has NO baggage, then they haven't lived, they haven't experienced, they haven't loved, they haven't hated and they haven't learnt. In other words they've lived in a complete vacume totally cut off from all experience.
Anyone wants to infer that my 'shortie person' is baggage, can just go and get stuffed. My 'baggage' has taught me that I will never let anything come between me and 'shortie'. Some 'baggage' just isn't open to debate or interference. I understand that some people dont get that.. well thats their baggage.
For me .. the only baggage I wont try to tolerate is drug addiction.. now thats BAGGAGE. Oh and perhaps if they wanted to wear my underwear.. I dont think I'd like that baggage either.

Babbage - The structured assembly language for the General Electric Company 4xxx range of computers and their OS4000 operating system. It is strictly an assembler in that the generated code is relatively predictable but it can be written in a sufficiently structured manner, with indentation, control statements, function and procedure calls, to make the resultant source easy to read and manage. Even with this visible structure however, it is important to remember that the assembly of the statement is done left to right.
The British videotext system, Prestel is programmed in Babbage.
JASON656: I know 1 lady on another site that lives in mackay and she won't have anything to do with men if they have kids. She doesn't have any herself even though she is 42.She says that she doesn't dislike children. As far as she is concerned men often use kids against her.I have told her that I have a daughter so she said no thanks bye.
As someone who has no children, I can say that I understand where she is at.

crazzzymolly: Yes I suppose, but in your preferences you can state no children preferred. So why put in no baggage.
thats what they mean, but it normally comes from females, who according to them, they have lived their lives with their own kids, and would rather have a hot single guy, who doesnt have kids still at home, but the females doesnt mind if their kids come home, or are at home, as long as the guy doesnt have the same, eg: no baggage!!! fummy that ah!!!

Pockets66: I think mostly baggage is a term referring to unresolved issues within one's past not one's past Per-Se. We all have unresolved issues with our past but it is how we let those effect our present that is the issue.
I agree pockets. I also think baggage is when people have not let go of their unresolved past issues, hurt, trauma, people, situations, etc and they bring those into present relationships and behave, react and respond in a way that reflects this

Well said blondea Yes there are a few people that are so bitter that if they have that attitude and do not come to terms with it' they will never be successful in another relationship. They will be wasting their time. You can always tell who they are a mile off.
