The childrens Services director MUST have know what was going on
She apparently is NOT a qualkified social worker - SO What *are* her qualifications to hold such a job? My feeling is that they are all bloody parasites in the first place.
The whole Social services Childrens empire should be abolished and the NSPCC should have the same government funding as the local concils do and run the whole thing nationwide with alowable extra donations too as long as they are fully accountable to Parliament.
Evening standard quotations THE social workers who failed to save the life of Baby P could lose their jobs after a new probe was launched into the tragedy.
Professional regulators today announced they had begun an investigation into the actions of those involved in the case.
The General Social Care Council, which registers all social workers in England, said it had started "preliminary inquiries" at Haringey council to see if anyone had breached its professional code of practice.
It has the power to admonish them, suspend them for two years or remove them from the register altogether, meaning they could not work anywhere in the country. The move could affect all the Haringey social workers involved in the child's care, including:
? Maria Ward: Repeatedly taken in by the mother's lies. She said Baby P seemed "well" four days before his death.
? Gillie Christou: In charge of the council's child protection register. She approved the boy's return home.
? Sylvia Henry: Took part in the decision to send Baby P back to his mother. She was also accused of lying in the Victoria Climbié case.
It will not affect the council's director of children's services, Sharon Shoesmith, as she is not a registered social worker.

mickeyscouse: there is sure a lot of buck passing going on at the moment by people trying to save there jobs
it has been impossible to avoid the story since it surfaced a week ago i dont want to here the horrors of a tortured tot but every time i have picked up a newspaper or looked at the news it has been the main story
you would of thought haringey social services would of learned from the victoria climbie horrors 6 years ago
i am disturbed that this has happened again
btw the mother of child p had her identity protected she is on remand somewere anyway she is called tracey connelly
good on ya....maybe she will feel the pain Baby P went through once the other jail birds have finished with her.....
as for the b/f....cut off his balls very very very very slowly...in fact pass me the knife...
as for the soical workers...
sod manslaughter....murder...they helped murder that baby.....i couldnt live with my self...so il pass them the rope...and hope they take the hint
dont think there is anyway of ever getting justice, when you are dealing with social services and hospitals, when mistakes are made, they close ranks and people lie to save their skins

Those are my sentiments too - However it was not direct murder - The *management* on all sides *indirectly* murdered the child by the results of their faulty judgement, appaling incompetence, failure to put the childs needs first and buck passing over the whole of its life and they were fully informed by the police as to what the parent was dioing and the activities of her partner.
The only law that applies in this case is manslughter but I think it should be recommended that they should serve the maximum sentence with no remission.
On the evidence IMO, everyone involved on all sides should have been arrested immediately by special order of the Home Office, charged and brought to court to answer for their actions under trial by by jury in the High Court without any further delay.
BUT due to the stupidity and rediculous state of political correctness we have to suffer now we have no deterrents in law on any matter including murder, that was not the case.

Hi Mike ,I do agree with you but these people aren`t the only one`s to blame , WE ALL ARE how many baby`s , children , woman , are going through this sort of thing and we the public choose turn away and ignore whats happening all around us , we chat to friends about the woman down the road thats taken enougher beeting from that bloke she with or the child thats being bullied all the time , but thats all we do untill something like this happens then we call for the blood of those people that we can point the finger at and say they aren`t doing their job`s and then we sit back and feel bad for the child thats died which makes us feel also better . The goverment sit back and love this , let`s turn the clock back to when there were hospitals for people like baby P`s mum`s boyfriend that enjoyed hurting thing`s , on TV last night they said that he use to brake the leg`s of animals for fun . If we can`t put these people away then we should put them down , we need to stop letting the do gooders making the rules and go back to a time when people like this man were hung or put away before they could kill .

Bring back hanging it's cheaper and it resolves a lot of probems efficiently
mike1937: A bullet and quicklime on Burial in an unmarked gravepit is even cheaper
i have tried to avoid reading anything about this at all, but i gave in and read a couple of articles.................horrific. the thing is we are all sitting here saying (quite rightly ) that heads should roll.............for people like that long painful torture is what id like to do to them.
but i for one feel totally guilty now, what do we as individuals do when something like this happens? we sit back and bay for blood but we dont get off our backsides and do anything constructive. where are we all when the social work dept are calling out for foster parents for unfortunate kids who have had a terrible start in life?? think we all need to a look at ourselves too.

I agree with you 100% , i watch a 76yr old woman cry as she read the story in the paper about baby P we have all been touched by him .

yes we have all been touched and no doubt shed a few tears..............and we will do the same the next time it happens because it will. but what do any of us actually do.................bay for blood at the time, then forget about it and get on with our cosy little lives.......................how sad. there are other kids out there who everyday are going through what baby P did......................and we sit pointing the finger at the guilty ones.....................we are all guilty in some form, we all know it happens but we still do nothing.

The goverment are to blame past and present , the shutting down of mental hospitals where people like this were put before they could hurt anybody , im sorry if this upsets others but i do beleave that we should turn the clock back and reopen the hospitals and bring back corporal punishment i.e hanging , it make`s me so mad that the law is set up to protect the scum like baby P killers , you are right we do nothing , maybe some sort of vigilantly society is what we need .

i dont agree with a vigilante society........................this is about the kids and how we should try to do something to help the tots who day in day out suffer this sort of treatment. thats the problem with some people..................hell bent on revenge when its the kids we should be concentrating on.
i do agree with a lot of what you are saying but the point im making is that if we start with vigilante nonsense it becomes all consuming and most people get hell bent on revenge and forget what it all started with.

I know your right and the children come first and we should stop this from happening , but like others im just so angry and these children are loosing their life`s and those that took that life should pay with their`s

IMO you have not said at any time what your solution IS or could be.
Whatever objectors to the stataus quo collectively did, it still HAS to start with massive protests and even civil disobedience perhaps by people acting in large groups and marching in protest for change on parliament and the aims made clear.
Such gropups would automatically get the tag vigilante by the politically correct and the New Labour establishment. They have succeded in turning protest and objection at official meetings (New Labour conferences) into potential illegal behaviour by trying to stifle free speach already, so it would have to be organised covertly and sprung on the authorites which would be said to be a vigilante exercise.
