I'm really not in the Christmas spirit this year. My friend dragged me along shopping today, looking for decorations & stuff. I told her I don't have the money to spend on that stuff with my new mortgage & whatnot. She just cheerfully replied, "Don't worry! We'll get your place all decorated for you!"

I guess, since I'm planning on having my small family over for the holiday this year, I probably should put up a tree... which I haven't done since my daughter moved out. But I just can't get into the spirit. It's not in me.

Christmas is awesome. I love it and I can't wait to have my own kids to celebrate it with.

Darn it, I need to get married soon.

I am not in the spirit yet but I plan on getting there. It will happen Owen because it's not about the material things but about focusing on those we love and just having a fun time with them. Enjoying decorating the tree with the little ones unless they are too small and watching how they place the Christmas ornaments on the tree. Making cookies with way too much frosting and sprinkles. The Christmas Lights twinkling in the window brightening up the night. Songs that have been passed down for many years that we all know Those are the fun things the little parts of Christmas that bring the kid out in us.hug

Acouple days ago I wasn't feeling in the holiday spirit . I was feeling sorry for myself cause I knew I'd be spending the holidays alone again this year so why should I feel in the Christmas spirit.

Well I changed my mind and decided to volunteer by passing out Christmas dinners to the ones who need them. Maybe even visit some seniors in the senior center behind my home. Like baking and delivering some homemade cookies to a fire dept near my home too.

Yes and I'm going to put up a tree with all the trimmings.

wave to Sol and Mindy.

I think this is the first true XMas that I will really feel alone.

Last XMas I had a job and a place to hang out when I was working.

This year, no job and my roommates have their Family to go to for the holidays.

I'm probably going to be here on the boards, like I was for T-Day, looking for someone to chat to or responding to forum posts.

I hope everyone has a better holidays.

Bah humbug...the only way I'm gonna get into the christmas spirit is, if a bunch of CS women come over to my place on christmas eve, run around half naked in santa outfits, eat food and get drunk, and otherwise indulge... otherwise I'll probably just be boring on CS...

Please reserve your place at my table now...

It was much more exciting when my daughter was little. I would sit up until around 4 in the morning, wrapping gifts, drinking wine, & watching "It's A Wonderful Life" over & over again. Then, I would always have to go wake HER up, because I was too excited to wait for her to get up to see her gifts!

But now that I'm alone... & my mom passed away in December... I just can't seem to get into the mood anymore. Not to mention, I can't even buy my babies anything. Breaks my heart.

Oh, I forgot to add.

One of my favorite XMas gift was a T-shirt with a Stocking on it, Saying Merry Christmas at the top, under the stocking, it said Stuff It.

I think we should all celebrate in August and really screw up the commercialism of it. Wal-Marts little smiley face logo would cry.
