beauty illusiary transient unyielding

subjective elusive object of desire

cool ice maiden

pure classical snow

blame ancient greeks for their wondrous statues of stone

yet perfect never had the warm breath of life infused into their lungs.

symmetry of face and form

always eludes my reach

i slip back into the norm

I am weary from all the comparing and coming up flawed

as the years go on your orbit becomes farther away

will never obtain the oval face mine too plain and round

the alabaster skin, perfect pointed chin

the cherokee/choctaw peep through on the freckles on my face

If I am slender enough it will not run from

but my cheekbones speak

of my ancestry

native american or scot I know not which

my curvy voluptous frame will never measure up to the sleek lines of those statues.

they speak to me of strength however and endurance from peasant stock

those who survived and came over to this land.

of the many tribes that created who we are

its a beauty you can't obtain from cosmetics or a jar of oil of olay

Cool probably a big percentage of Americans are Native Americans if their families have been here for several generations. JMO You don't look it either Bob lol.

They are truly wonderous works of art and the standard which a lot of beauty has to been set upon. The idea of the "classic" beauty.

Interesting HJ never have heard of that tribe. I only found out that I was part Native American in last 5 years it wasn't a thing you announced where my dad's family is from. So where was your Granny from?
I have done more I just haven't put much of my writings on here. A few here and there. Thanks for the encouragement I appreciate it.

Really Mohawk that explains the fierceness. Very brave people weren't they? Have found out from putting the pic up to be rated that beauty is very subjective. Originally joined this site as a lark and put pic up for ratings never intending to do more than see what happened, but chatting with you all has been a great experience. There are a lot of beautiful souls out there. teddybear

They originated in New York. Migrated into the Great Lakes states and then west. There is a large Band of Potawattmi in Red Bluff, California. My granny was from a Band in Michigan, they lived in Indiana.

Getting all the info is somewhat difficult, but it can be done. In my case, the old Courthouse had been burned down and all records destroyed. I had to go through the U.S. Census....

Keep writing, you are doing it for you, but I think you know that..wink

Interesting is there many left from that tribe?
Yeah I wanted to connect with others through my writing seems the best way for me at times but even if no one sees all my work it doesn't matter I am going to write anyway.
