It finally hit home home tonight that I do indeed live in The South!laugh

The beautifully classy Jackson and I attended my company Christmas party earlier this evening - Everything all formal and festive - having a wonderful time...
...And the very first item on the buffet was fried okra!rolling on the floor laughing Almost expected to see grits and redeye gravy, but was a bit relieved to see only stuffing and mashed potatos, instead.thumbs up

God, I love living in East Tennessee! laugh

I thought so too, Dana. Before we even made it to the table I looked and saw the okra and turned to Jackie and said, "Oh my God, we DO live in Tennessee!" and pointed at the okra and we both cracked up!rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

I love fried okra just not cooked....kind of reminds me of something not to pleasant. Years ago I had renters from the south and they made me friend okra. Later I moved to Columbia SC and was in the hospital giving birth and they brought me "cooked" okra. I about gaged looking at it. But I learned while living in the south to love fried okra!
Glad you and Jackson had a wonderful time at your company Christmas party.

I'm from Kansas - we were on BOTH sides during the war - COLD PIZZA is breakfast stuff. I ate grits from morning through night when I was a kid and leftover redeye gravy made a helluva' sauce for broiled 'possum!

Hey Len, you know the difference between a Yankee and a damn Yankee?

A Yankee comes down South for a visit, then goes back up North.

A DAMN Yankee comes down for a visit and stays!laugh

I spent all of my summers in East Tennessee, and it is wonderful. The people are so nice, and the pace is really laid back. You are lucky to be down there.

Enjoy!

I'm sure that "Uncle Jack" (Jack Daniels, that is.) has a website, but I could probably find a little 'shine' for you - Good for sippin', starting fires and removing paint!laugh
