One of the rare times when I have a serious post..
Sometimes, good things happen when we least expect it. After 6 years, my 27 year old son and I have been able to repair our relationship. If you have children regardless of thier age you know how important they are and what a pain in the butt they can be at times. Then again, we (parents) are quite possibly a pain too.
It really is amazing how we can be so blind to the things/people that are most important to us. We're also quite adept at ignoring that nagging voice in the back of our heads or allowing pride to get in the way of reason. It's even more amazing to get that surge once things are made right again.
Anyway, this could not have come at a better time as I am soon departing the country again and I really wanted things straight before I left. I could not have asked for a better Christmas present.
May each of you enjoy a Merry Christmas equal to or greater than the one I just enjoyed.

Same here! My son has only recently started talking to me again and he's only 23 but ignored me 99.999% of the time the past few years....... I'm very pleased for you (and myself too).

Thanks Katie, I wish you luck with your son. I think most of us are hardheaded sometimes especially when it comes to family. I guess it's because we know they'll forgive us for just about anything. Merry Christmas

though it doesn't look good on my resume:
I am very happy to hear of a reunion of family. At the end of the day, that is all you really have!

Thanks Ship Pretzelman. I'm sure that comment didn't hurt your resume..
